I forgot we're only one round away from top 10, so here's the top10predix winner based on who goes out tomorrow. (spoilers it is cap)

If Aeris, Ghido, Barret, Laguna, Cecil, or Red are eliminated in 11th, captaincanadian wins solo with 8/10.
If Delita is eliminated, cap, VI, and guff win with 7/10.
If Locke is eliminated, cap, Xuxon, and Fiop win with 7/10.
If Vanille is eliminated, cap, guff, Fiop, and JC win with 7/10.
If Selphie is eliminated, cap, Koala, Xuxon, and guff win with 7/10.
If Seymour is eliminated, cap, VI, roba, vis, Fiop, and JC win with 7/10

Oooh, nice that I'm on this list. My top 10 started out rough with 2 eliminations in the first 3 but improved since. So far, FF7 and FF8 predictions were right, assuming they don't get eliminated next round.

2 of those 3 scenarios that get me a tied win I'd be sad about that character being eliminated, though.

drak was always pretty vocal about hating celes but I miss his ashe & yuffie saves

Honestly I prefer the blunt hate over the I am sorry for your loss posts from people who I literally never see save those characters in the first place

no matter how hard i push layle i'll always know he's a nobody to pretty much everyone and that's fine

but i will use smfffc to try to make y'all interested in checking him out in my playthrough movie that ever remains in my sig (partly because I 1000% recognize the gameplay is absolutely not for everyone)

at the very least give people a chuckle with the hit or miss memes

and hey I actually got martin to check it out and andylt to even play the game which is cool! even if Martin thinks Belle is the real star but hey she's great too so I'm glad I introduced him

FF has such a wide variety theres a decent amount of characters I love, like, dont care about and dislike among the series.

Maybe because it's like 70% of the main stuff I support tends to be in boot risk territory but the condolences bug me more than the hate too.

As an FFVIII fan, I'm desensitized to people hating my favorite stuff. I don't take it personally if people celebrate a character I like going out because, well, it's not personal.

Maybe it's because VIII isn't high tier of the FFs I've played, but I have never noticed that much hate for it. A lot of indifference sure, but other than a select few characters (e.g. Zell, Irvine, Selphie) and a select few scenes same orphanage I really don't see that much outright hate for it.

Now compare that to my highest tier of FFs I've played and I notice people openly shit all over Tidus, consistently rank Seymour as the lowest character they're actually familiar with, mislabel Yuna as a delicate wallflower, think Auron is overrated...

...Huh. Maybe you just notice the hate more if you're particular attached to the game the hate is directed toward. I think I'm learning something!

This will probably sound accidentally jerkish, seeing as I'm not around often, and I really don't mean it in any kind of way. But I'd say, like, whenever folks here contemplate how well regarded a character or game is, remember to look outside the B8 bubble. I see it with, you know, ResetEra, with certain subreddits, the whole nine yards - there are definitely broad and clear-cut biases within various communities.

Not that I'm some guru on what the entire fandom thinks of Lightning, or Final Fantasy 8, or whatever. Truth be told, I think Final Fantasy fandom is far too fractured at this point to make much of most things. If someone were to tell me, "I think Josef from Final Fantasy 2 is not among the most beloved characters," I'd agree, but go too much further than that, and it gets dicey.

14/10 and 22/5 otherwise rest of FFD's list matches up w/ how lefty does things, Ulti
