Like people always say oh no wants to work anymore. And normally ppl point out not for those wages. But honestly do you want to work.

I dont know. My job lets me help people and I like that. But it also makes me drive over 300 miles a week. And I really don't want to work. Like that.. ibam back on a heart monitor from it .

If I could get a job working with ses turtles and baby seals maybe. But I would much prefer to stay at home otherwise

I don't want to work a job that traditionally is paid well such as the one I am at now.

I would rather do work that traditionally is not paid well.

So UBI would be great if it ever happens.

Not really, but it pays well. If I won the lottery I would immediately quit my job, but I would probably start my own company and continue "working"

Not really but I accept having to do it and enjoy the things that working affords me.

As far as work goes, I do like the job that I have well enough, so that makes having to work a lot better. But I wouldn't work if I didn't need to.

The vast majority of people wouldn't work if they didn't have to. Myself included.

I've been wanting to work for the past 9 months.... had to leave my work term for medical reasons and you'd think it would be easy just to find generic work, I can't even find that. The further away I get the worse its going to be for me. I'm actually getting more and more pissed off each passing day.

If you to live to the average age span of 73 years for a male, you'll spend 25 years at work, 25 years sleeping, 20 years eating, drinking, peeing or pooping.

That means in total you got 3 years free time before the big dirt nap.

And it sucks that once you get a job you have to that every day besides two weeks a year. We should have Summer off like we did in school. And it changes up. One year you are off for Winter , next Summer and so forth.

Yea, but you can go outside anytime you want. I get that you like outdoors, so do I. If I could, I would be at a Hawaiian beach everyday surfing.
Remember the topics premise, If you could magically still have cash, would you still bust your ass everyday for more?

I don't want to work for work's sake or to make more money for some rich asshole who might be using that money to work against my interests and crush my civil rights at every turn.

But to work for something I believe in or to write a novel or something like that? To learn a language? Yes, all of this is work, and I'd do it happily.

Only getting two weeks off a year is an American thing. there are jobs and countries where you get a lot more. I get loads of time off.

I love my job. Not just because it pays well or I get lots of time off (though I do like that) but I like the job itself. That said, if I had more than 5 million pounds I wouldnt keep doing it.

I would probably still do a few things that might earn me money from time to time, like I do on the side now. But I wouldnt be doing it for the money.

Another is that we all get a short time on this earth so you might as well enjoy it, and money allows you to enjoy it more.

If I could somehow miraculously find a job that pays enough where I can survive independently, I'd at least tolerate working. But the chances of that happening are getting slimmer and slimmer by the day.

How much would you say you need to get by at the bare minimum?

Basically living a simple solitary existence of no wife, no kids, no extravagant furnishings, etc.

But if there was something that I found personally fulfilling, helped society in some way, and earned me a decent wage, then I'd want to work.

In a UBI having nobody has to work to survive kind of situation I would still want to do what I have done before or currently do for the organization I work for. I wouldnt want to work just any old job though.

but the bottom 10-20% also have to be sacrificed for capitalism to work

You saw what those three stimulus checks have done to our purchasing power, right? It caused the current inflation crisis.

When you have too many dollars chasing too few goods, it creates inflation.
