Sit/Stand desks became super popular at one place that I worked. Everybody wanted one. And management bought them.

And then nobody used them. I never saw anyone standing at their standing desk.

They sure were a pain in the butt to set up. You had to drill holes in the desktop to lock them down, then you have to run all the cables through the channels in the stand so nothing got pinched. And the company was constantly shuffling people around, so I'd have to go in, tear down the computer, then the facilities people (who "owned" the desks) would come in and move the stands, then I'd have to reassemble all the cabling and monitors and stuff.

I use a special rotating harness to type while hanging upside down.

Sit, but I spend roughly half of my work day standing while I do other things. If I was at my desk typing all day, I would want to stand for part of it.

And with that...pow! I'm gone!

Do you also do hot yoga while typing?

Sit, but I also don't do it for hours at a time. I basically type for several minutes, get up, walk around, maybe scroll the mouse a bit to get to other pages, then sit down again and repeat. I actually keep the pedometer app on my phone on while I work, and I get on average 8000 steps a day without even leaving my office for the 8 hours I work.

I am actually thinking about getting an elliptical machine in my office and using it during meetings.

Idk. Probably sit, but could be stand. At work, they dont have adjustable desks for standing. While Id probably rather sit, when I work, standing might be better with all the moving around I do. Plus, I usually let the officers use my chair when they are filling out their paperwork at my computer

That said, ours werent as complicated. They are just things we put on top of the desk. No drilling needed
