On one hand, jobs can be brutal and soul consuming.

On the other hand, jobs often are the culmination of everything you did to get there, and it's proof that your past efforts were worth it.

Or it's a part ongoing effort to better yourself for the future (make yourself more marketable with skills/reference you pick up, etc etc).

Eh. It's not soul-crushing or awful, but I'm not enthusiastic about it either.

But if it's not the former, it's still worth it, though.

Yes and I didnt even want this job. I was pressured into it by family cause I needed a job. Ended up falling into it over time. One of the easiest jobs I've ever had physically. Can be a tad stressful but that's mostly cause overtime. I mean it's stressful regardless but if I had more time off it wouldn't be as bad.

I guess yes, but it's a different kind of enjoyment. It's a very challenging job that I honestly haven't developed the personality for yet, so I can't really say I've "enjoyed" a single second of it.

But a job that constantly puts me out of my comfort zone has given me a lot of things to be proud about, and I find a different kind of happiness in that way I suppose.

Yeah. It's still a job, but I enjoy what I do a lot more since changing jobs back in the spring.

I get to listen to music all day which is fucking great. It's a small shop, so I deal directly with the owner and don't have managers or supervisors. I take my lunch and breaks whenever I want and work on my own all day.

This is the only job I've ever had.

I'm okay with working at it for the entirety of my career.

Once I've retired, I want to continue on working for the United States Federal Government.

I've been working for someone else lately. It pays more than my self-employed work (which I still do on the side though it's impractical these days and I'll give it up soon) but I just don't like working on someone else's time. The work itself isn't bad at all and I'm getting very valuable training on the job that I can use to make more money in the future but I still hate centering my entire day around the whims of someone else.

I went from having full control over my schedule, type of work, and workload to having someone control everything about the work I do and I fucking hate it. I would go weeks in between jobs if I wanted, taking as much time as I needed/wanted to re-charge or just do nothing if I felt like it. The daily grind fucking blows.

I don't have a job currently. Long story short had a work term, got Cancer had to do Chemo for 4 months, I'm Cancer free but still haven't found work. THAT SAID, I loved working at my work term. I learned a lot, and the people were so nice, not to mention that the pay wasn't bad for someone like myself just getting out of college. It wasn't amazing, it was only 16/h, but as someone whose worked retail for 11 years, where the min. wage is 14/h, I'll take the added experience.

I hate it more than I can describe in words. I sell telecommunications. Internet, TV, landline phone plans, and cell phone plans. I don't get to pick when I take calls. They forcibly come through since I'm on a computer. Each time I get a call, there's a loud obnoxious *beep* sound. Each time I hear that *beep* sound, I die a little more inside...

Do I enjoy being chained to a desk, taking phone calls and getting screamed at by customers all day for the actions of others, seeing everyone else in the office getting to walk around and do whatever (and definitely not making enough money to justify it)?

Surprisingly I do not.
