So instead of trading him (for actual value, not what they think hes worth) they instead volunteer to get nothing for him when he walks after this season, a season where they aren't winning shit with or without him.

Dude have you seen the stupidity the Cardinals have vomited out this offseason? Colts have a ways to go to match cutting DeAndre Hopkins or trading a solid starting former first round LB for a 7th rounder.

Not the first and won't be the last team to not cave into a whiny player's demands. Yes in a sense it's dumb to get no value, but teams can't just be doormats either.

Duh.

The team fell ass backwards into getting two generational quarterbacks, and they wasted the lion's share of one career and only got one championship out of him and ruined the career and physical well-being of the other.

Nowadays, their two franchise faces for decades of history wouldn't be caught dead in their stadium.

Only a coke head that big could win one SB with 20 combined years of both Peyton Manning and Andrew Luck at QB.

We shit on the Cowboys, but it's not as if they've been stable at QB since their last SB appearance. From Aikman to Romo, there were like 8 different starting QB's. And Romo gave them like 8 injury plagued seasons. Dak too really.

But the Colts, from 2000-2015 had arguably either the top QB in the league or one of the top 5-10 at worst. And managed to get 1 SB win and 2 appearances out of it.

It's not quite as bad as the Packers with Rodgers/Favre, but it's pretty abysmal none the less.

The Colts were the victims of Deflategate. They were cheated out of a chance to go on to the Superbowl and all the Patriots received was a slap-on-the-wrist fine. Why is it that the best cities always have the best teams? I guess living in a city that's a household name simply inspires athletes to work a little bit harder, to give the extra push that people from flyover cities don't have.

It doesn't matter how the money is divided up. They're not supposed to win.

Agreed with Luck. That team wasn't that good and the Pats were, hence the absolute destruction in the title game.

Peyton definitely did drag some Colts teams farther than they ever should have gone (like the year before he got hurt and missed a year they were a playoff team, and the following year they were abysmally bad), but some of the teams he had were legitimately GREAT. The defense of the team that won SB XLI was pretty good when healthy, such as in Bob sanders being actually healthy that postseason).

And many forget that prior to Bradys first year as a starter in 2001, the Patriots spent much of their existence being hot garbage. Their win percentage at the time was .464, which is on par with the win history of the Lions.

Nobody was trading for Hopkins with his Cardinals contract (about $20M for the year), which is why he was cut and then the Titans signed him for $13M a year. And Simmons was a meh player they tried to move to safety in the last year of his rookie deal (with the 5th year option declined), so why would you expect any team to trade something of value for him when he isn't good, is on an inflated salary, and they would need to re-sign him to keep him after this year?

This does explain why Kansas City has been the most dominant team of the last half-a-decade. It's a premier coastal metropolis. Flyover cities like San Francisco and Philadelphia never stood a chance.

Deflated balls are not the reason the Colts scored 7 points that game. They got thoroughly destroyed that game and even if you said that deflating the balls gave the Patriots 30 points they otherwise wouldn't have got, and that would be an insane claim to make, they still would have beaten the Colts pretty handedly.
