One time when I worked at Dave & Buster's, someone accused me of singling out black people because I told some family to stop letting their kids climb into the pop-a-shot.

Not in a really long time; probably around a decade ago when I was working at Foodland. It was late at night and I asked a hobo to stop tearing open our trash bags, and he said something along the lines of Fuck you, stupid j** boy!

The only way to forget about racism is to stop talking about it.

I can't say I've experienced it personally due to being, not to put too fine a point on it, white.

Last time I witnessed it was on the bus a couple of months ago, when an older gentleman walking with a stick simply refused to take the seats offered to him. Moreover was most rude to those offering their seats.

Took me a while to work out what was wrong, until I noted that I was the only one he apologised to after the refusal.

It should be noted that this was in Hounslow, and if you have a problem sitting next to brown people in that area of London, you're going to spend a lot of time standing.

Does being racist count? Last month I told a Mexican co-worker a racist joke about Mexicans. I warned her first and she said to tell her. She thought it was funny.

A Latino customer was talking with my Korean coworker. They got to talking about k dramas and she said something like "oh i love when the koreans make those sounds when they talk", and he was like "I'm not mad, but that's racist, that could get you in trouble"

She doubled down but in the way where it's like she means well and doesn't understand if she said anything wrong. She made the specific sounds and did a voice and everything. He talked her through it, but I was laughing too hard to remember the details.

I had black and white patients call me the n-word with a hard R I'm white so I was like "lolwut?" everytime >_> They all had dementia. The fact that it happened like at least 3 times each from both races is strange lol

But besides that I only had 2 I remember. I held a door open for a black guy at some convenience store and he just yelled to me "I dont want help from a white guy!" It was weird >_> And then another time I ordered a sandwich at a deli after this black guy, but they gave me my sandwich first and the guy snapped and yelled out "white entitlement!" or something lol. I took it, went home and opened it, and it turns out I actually got his sandwich but they put my name on it, so I guess that incompetence is why I got "my" sandwich first >_> I didnt even eat it

I was insulted myself that someone irl said I look like a drug and alcoholic user (in a bad way obviously) and then the person online I was talking to about it went off on me and called Me the n word and blocked me and went mad at me like I personally insulted him and said he can't deal with me anymore (the online guy said that not instantly it was a day later but that's the only reason I can think he jerked out on me cos i said nothing else he could have got mad at me on and he told me he had an alcohol problem) but he didn't let me finish that I was insulted more on the drug part and not the alcohol part also i didn't know it was such a touchy topic idk...

No, it's dumb to you because you don't understand it. All of you see black and white. Can't see gray at all. It isn't a perfect magical solution but I also never said it was. If I wrote a whole essay about it it would be lost on you guys. I teach at a high school that used a native American mascot. The local tribe politely asked us 3 years ago to change it, and last year we finally listened. We haven't picked what the new mascot will be yet, but that's the setting. Then this week I overheard a group of white students say "we should be the Mexicans."

Also this week a student reported to me that other students were using racist names to refer to a teacher of Asian descent.

During the George Flloyd protests, my brother defended the cops actions and said that I wasn't taking into account that it happened in the ghetto and not the suburbs.

I work in a prison I see it all the time.. I get accused of it alot. I can't help that the majority of inmates are black. They just say that shit trying to intimidate me outta doing my job.

I was once accused of being racist to white people. I wrote a white dude up for something but not a black dude for the same thing. I don't catch everything.

As in was the recipient or just witnessed it? Never for the former, latter was 2015(?) on the Vegas strip when some schizo lady was screaming at passersby before running up to a black man & screaming FUCKING N----- in his face.
