An adviser to Russian President Vladimir Putin has claimed that Ukraines military will become unified through gay sex like the Greek Spartans.
While the comment may seem bizarre, its just the latest example of Russian authorities using anti-LGBTQ+ nationalist sentiment to justify its unprovoked war against Ukraine.

NATO has said that it wont send any troops to Ukraine. However, it has said it will increase its military presence along the eastern border of its member states closest to Russia in case Putin attempts to expand his conquest.
It has been over 540 days since Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022.

It's funny they say that. It's funny that they also don't know that a lot of armies way back when, a famous example being Spartans, were actually homosexual and they slept in same sex barracks and even went into battle with their partners.

This isn't a new thing for them, they've been calling the US "Nazis" since the Cold War started. The eastern bloc outright called the Berlin Wall the "Anti-Fascist Protection Rampart" back in the day, on the grounds that everything to the west of the wall was still controlled by fascists even after Nazi Germany was defeated (maybe if Spain suddenly swept in to conquer Europe, but odds are good that they'd just get squashed by the US and Britain the moment they tried).

Russia now basically only thinks of "Nazi" as meaning "opposed to Russia", rather than anything the Nazis actually believed in and what they did outside of breaking the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact and invading the USSR in WWII. If they actually stopped and thought about those things, they might realize that Vladimir Putin's regime (or his American stooges in the modern Republican Party) really isn't all that different from their old enemies.

I remember my friend who moved to the US from Ukraine used the term "gay" very loosely in replacement for other words. Like what some kids did at first but he carried that much longer.
