Disco Elysium is fantastic. Shame what happened to that studio.

tbf: I'm not looking too too forward to RF5... I love RF4, but so far RF5 is suffering from performance issues

RF5 on the switch is REALLY rough. Like, it'll only cache one zone back, so if you teleport from one house to another and then go outside, it has to slowly load like the entire overworld

PC version basically fixes the game's performance issues, it's a good game (albeit lacking in content variety compared to 4 thanks to the jump to 3D not letting them reuse bosses)

Voted for Generation Zero. It was the only game without any votes until I got here. :(

I didn't really mind the performance that much. It wasn't good, by any means, and it just felt cheaply made across the board, but it wasn't unplayable or anything. The underlying game, though, was pretty thoroughly disappointing compared to RF4. RF4 set a very, very high standard, so perhaps that isn't the fairest comparison, but I just drifted away from RF5 shortly after beating the game (which happened in the first week of summer because the story pacing is pretty wonky) instead of feeling any drive to delve properly into crafting (not helped by it being exactly the same crafting system I'd already min-maxed in 4), get serious about farming, or to even start dating anyone. I still got 60-odd hours of decent fun out of it, but it just didn't hook me enough to compel me to really explore the full breadth of the game, which is a stark contrast to RF4 (where I spent over 200 hours milking it for everything it had to give).

Chained Echos was the best game to come out last year.

Also, unsolicited advice, told to enhance your experience. First and foremost, you should play the game how you'd like. You shouldn't let others opinion detract your sensibilities. Second, the optimal way to play the game is ironman, without save scumming. It's debated that the game is designed with rolling on with your failures, and experiencing failure is an important part of the game.

Something is odd about the presentation of the political ideologies... like I'm not being introduced to things naturally;

Like the internal world of the game is a lie. An Amnesiac, not even half a cop, having to decide the finer facets of socio-economics...... to solve a simple murder?

Half the time the option I want to pick is "I don't care" ... not in a heartless way, but just because INSOFAR as the plot has been going, the political landscape should have no bearing on the investigation "yet".

I totally get that it will, but the intro seems forcefully stacked.

Your choices often decide who the main character was, because the partial amnesia is sort of a blank slate

The writers are Estonian so their politics are a lot harder to hide your head in the sand from than American politics

what I mean is... I feel like I'm being Truman Showed or Shutter Islanded

I beat the game... and given how much failure I encountered, I'm curious how things could have been different.

yaknow.... I kinda want to play it more to get the achievements, but since it's pretty much a game novel I don't really feel the mood.

It's a good game, yes; good story and writing... but much like another great adventure game (Unavowed) my inner God-Gamer is repellent to just fast-skipping through dialogue trees

The game is also a mighty 10 gigs, so I wanna delete it for space. but I hate unfinished business.

Also, I died after I flopped to the ground trying to punch Cuno, failed a 90+% ... I had meds, but whiffing on a kid? Just take me, game reaper.

I also quick-loaded the game and shot Cunoesse for fun.

This happened to me, as well

Man, I spent a month playing the game, because I only have an hour or two of free time a day now.

There's a lot of clips on youtube for unusual/noteworthy scenes. Also detective Cuno is neat.

100%'d the game... there are some really weird things you can do that did not happen in my first 3 playthroughs.
