I've never played a mech game and have no particular interest conceptually, even if the trailer made this particular one look fantastic. If it wasn't a fromsoft game I would have not paid attention to anything relating to this game. Everything I've seen from the gameplay makes it seem like it'll be a strong entry in the series. We have a stagger bar and healing items now. I'm not sure how I feel about them until I play it, but I feel like the healing pack is the only thing that's really out of place. As others have said, it doesn't seem like the souls elements are too pervasive. From the gameplay footage that we've seen, it still feels like Armored Core. You can still move and shoot at the same time, so it won't be about dodging until you have an opening. You still have plenty of Armor Points (AP) to take damage. Still tons of customization... Great concept, but I've never been sold on the setting, a lot of the extensive customisation options just don't seem worth it, and the gameplay always seemed a bit fiddly and (one way or another) over all too soon. Hearing their next project was going back to AC game was a bit of a 'Peggle 2!' moment for me. I know others love AC, so good for them getting their kind of game. Not every game has to be for me.
