Not as lazy as the blame Gamefreak is gettinghere for a game they had no development involvement with.

The NSO emulators have online features built in, so the Card Pop might work using that. Maybe.

The people who in general works on all NSO games or all VC games they released prior? Which is likely more falls to interns in the company rather then development staffs from where the games originated from.

Why does it matter to you if Nintendo, TPC or Game Freak gets the blame for the pathetic state of the franchise?

There is literally no reason to distinguish between them unless your goal is to wash the butt of your favourite corporate entity that doesnt care about you with your tongue.

It's really not a very good game, but I have such a nostalgic fondness for it. It's a shame they didn't continue with it onto the GBA. Could have been a pretty fun sub-series as the mechanics evolved.

Why is it flawed? What will pointing out these flaws even do? Make sure the TPC executive browsing gamefaqs wouldnt get their feelings hurt? It just feels like you just want to defend a company because reasons.

Because it creates a narrative of people throwing blame at people and companies not involved which males most gamers and critics just come off looking like complete asses while dragging down criticism.

It won't. 3DS had such capabilities too, and they didn't bother there, so don't see why they would here.

It's because Card Pop worked using the IR port that was directly on the cartridge. No cartridge, no feature, unless the feature itself is reprogrammed.

If it makes anyone feel any better, the two Card Pop cards suck anyway.

I mean the TCG more likely made them more money then the GB game did.

Yeah, but what does that have to do with anything? When the tcg first came out I bought cards and the game. I assume most people did. Owning one wouldnt keep you from owning the other

It has to do with the business side of things, why spend money constantly making a new game with updates cards when you can just massively crank out the physical card game?

Could also have to do with how well the first one did and how well the second did in Japan

My first guess would be Konami, which Hudson was dissolved into and seems to own the rights for most (all?) of its games/IPs.

How? Its pretty damn simple. When you consider the cost of the two and the sales if the two if its not selling well enough or not worth investing in one they will chose the money maker.

To constantly have to develop a game with an updated card roster in the grand scheme of things wouldnt be worth the cost where you can invest in a physical card game and release expansions every other month or so.

Would actually be Nintendo and whatever intern they do. Because in reality they are the ones who have a massive collection of game data from even third party games.

Partially but all you have to really do is considering the sales of the second game and probably even the first at that. Plus again the common sense of developing a game would cost more then the card game production.

Yu-Gi-Oh is more heavy reliant on that because its biggest aspect is its card game. Pokemon has more then just the card games.
