Do you think there's gonna be another unexpected port shown off in the Switch 2's reveal trailer?

Skyrim.

Its pretty much tradition at this point that everything, without exception, needs its own port of Skyrim, Doom and Sonic 1 at a minimum.

It will be Skyrim.

Skyrim again, but also Final Fantasy 16 Cloud Version.

Elder Scrolls 6, Switch 2 exclusive for six months.

No, I would say that it's likely coming next year.

Ubisoft has said that Nintendo wanted to postpone the second Mario & Rabbids game for the Switch successor, and word is that devkits have already been sent out.

Seven years for the Switch is already stretching it and the system has long since shown it's age especially with newer titles.

yea your drawing the wrong conclusion nintendo was not s aying hold this finished game back till the next console

rather they where saying typicaly they(nintendo) would not develop a sequel for current hardware when it comes to mario

I think the current rumors about a 2024 release date are the real deal.

The Switch has been getting dumbass hypebeast "Switch Pro" rumours since like a year after it came out, I understand. I hated that shit, the one time I decided to buy into the rumors was when the Switch OLED hadn't been announced yet and the specs of that console were floating around as the potential "Switch Pro". For the most part I've just been hanging out, watching the Directs and stuff and enjoying myself.

But considering how long it's been since the Switch came out, and the legitimate buzz there's been around a successor to the Switch - like when Yves Guillermot, as much of an out-of-touch jerkoff as he is, was talking about how Nintendo wanted them to save Sparks of Hope for a new console - is getting to a point where I think the existence of the next Nintendo console is inevitable. It's not a question of "if", it's when.

I remember when the Wii U was failing and everyone latched onto this secret NX project, everyone was talking about the NX and clamoring for news over the course of years. People were so fed up with the Wii U era that they were vocally asking Nintendo to put the thing out of its misery and release the NX right away. We got a taste of that with the ever-present Switch Pro rumors, but I don't think the desperation was quite the same. The Switch lifespan has been relatively smooth sailing.

We're now at a point where the console release timeline makes sense, the company have milked the Switch dry, there's genuine rumblings about devkits and an industry executive talking about how they were in talks to delay a game for the Switch's successor. The Tegra chip that runs the Switch is outdated, there's been talk of NVIDIA discontinuing it in the past. Rigid OLED screens are cheaper to use than the Switch's LCD screens, thanks in part to the current mobile trend of flexible OLED and foldable touchscreens leaving a large surplus of rigid OLED screens. It's been almost seven years since the Switch came out, and it's one of the best selling video game consoles of all time.

Again, the Switch Pro rumors and the naysaying dickheads who insisted that Nintendo can't afford to compete in the console space without a more powerful Switch for years - that shit sucked. It was annoying. A more powerful Switch would have been nice, but people were being huge douchebags about it. Personally, though, I think a 2024 launch for a Switch successor is viable. I think this is the real deal.

The Switch isn't going to last forever. Average Nintendo console lifespan is what, 7 years? Been that way since the early 90s. It's a business.

i know they will have a successor and i know its in development (they start development on next console as soon as current releases)

but again we have been hearing rumors of a successor for years

Yeah, but those are including when theyve already been replaced and games come out more rarely.

Probably not since I say the big reveal of portable Skyrim was bug during its time since we hadnt really had a system that strong for Handhelds. Now with the Steam Deck being a thing I doubt we will have that sort of reveal.
