Got a C for Gorou Ill never use from my free monthly Acquaint Fates. I havent even started the latest event because Im working on the story. Im up to investing Callass case for Navia though I might just do the quick start so I dont miss out on the event since Im not sure when Ill be caught up with the story to where it suggests >_>

Pretty much yeah. Basically not long after Lyneys trial since I was playing too many other games and mostly just doing my dailies and some character material grinding

Completely fair, but does the latest event even require the archon quest? I'm not clear on which part of it would, unless there were some throwaway lines I've forgotten.

It recommends completing up to Chapter IV: Act V apparently

Finally met some more characters in Fontaine and feeling like I want more of them than I originally thought I would. Tomorrow Ill be wrapping up the end of the Meropide revelation chapter or whatever you want to call it. I gotta meet Ice Fist (his real name is too bothersome to remember the spelling of) to finish it up and get into Act V

Im on the part it suggests for the Freminet event, but Ill probably just start the event right now anyways since its hard to believe the last chapter of the quest really has any impact on this event.

Finished the Archon Quest. Ranking of new characters just based on that:
Navia > Neuvillette > Wriothesley > Arlecchino > Clorinde > Furina > Freminet > Lyney > Lynette

I really wanted to like Furina more, and I'd have had the kids higher (especially Lyney) before the prison. Mona was a nice suprise. Fuck Childe, though.

Id rank Freminet and Lyney bottom two for sure and Im not even done yet. Theyre just not great and design wise I dont like them either. You forgot to rank Sigewinne though

Oh yeah, Sigewinne....between Clorinde and Furina.

Personally, Freminet is helped by his lack of presence, as I still have pretty strong anti-Fatui bias, so it bugs me how friendly we are with them in the prison, and it felt like we were supposed to feel bad that the spies got caught spying. At least we were suspicious of the Harbinger.

I'm really not sure how I feel about Furina. This is also a really soft ranking, and I could wake up tomorrow and swap Navia with Arl. (The first and last picks are confident, though.)

Now that Im working on Furina artifacts I want to build my Noelle as a main DPS with Furina on the team, but Im not really sure what kind of build a Noelle enabling Furina wants. Is it just a support build? Sub DPS build? The same domain is good for Noelle artifacts too, but finding an updated guide for Noelle is proving to be annoying

I assume you have C6? With that I'm pretty sure you can go for a DPS build with DEF sands and still have enough healing to keep up with Furina's HP drain.

Meanwhile I'm waiting for a Geo healer so that I can run Furina with Itto without dropping a third geo...

Shes been C6 for a while yeah. Only downside is I dont have some other Geo units shes almost always used with and the few I do have dont have Cs or are units I dont want to use anyways like Gorou. Im still gonna try to make her work possibly with Yelan and a C0 Yunjin maybe

Well Yelan + Furina is a really strong combo, hard to go wrong there. And with Noelle doing DPS, healing, and shielding, you're free to run pretty much whatever support or sub DPS you want in the 4th slot.

It will feel a bit odd not having Yelan glued to my Yoimiya since thats where shes been since I built her. Theyre also super fun together and I hear Yoimiya is great with Furina as well

I think you just do each of them the way you would normally. Furina is primarily HP. Noelle is primarily DEF, with ER. You want some kind of geo battery for Noelle, but in the absence of Gorou, I just used Albedo. Consider Favonius weapons if the energy still isn't enough. On-field Noelle's healing should be enough on its own.

Both I guess. I noticed Furina had like 3 different build options whether she was your main dps, sub-dps or just a support and wasnt sure if sub-dps or support was the build she wanted as a Noelle enabler. They use artifacts from the same domain, but I dunno if Ive gotten much worthwhile for either of them so far.

Err...what's the difference between sub-dps and support here? She only has one set-up unless she's C6, I thought.

I dunno. Some sites list all kinds of stuff for characters. Ive even seen one saying you could use the clam healing set on her.

Furina really shouldn't be using a healing set. She's not great at healing and that mode is just for emergencies or for when you're going around the overworld. Unless she's C6 she pretty much always wants Golden Troupe with HP goblet, crit hat, and either HP or ER sands depending on how much energy she'll need in the team you put her in.

Noelle can use either Husk or Marechaussee Hunter since you'll run her with Furina. With Furina pretty much every on field DPS can use MH.

For me I just kinda struggle with this stuff unless I see it all pointed out for me. Like what each main stat should be and the 4 ideal sub stats to aim for. Thats why I usually look for guides that point it all out so simply an idiot could follow it lol

So basically the only oddity here is that HP goblet is better than hydro goblet in most cases.

I swear the artifacts are rigged. The one time I actually want DEF stats on them for a set is the time they never drop, but I get DEF mains on everything that doesnt want them

The only set that does not give DEF is Husk. Never does, because that would actually be desirable.

Took a long break, but will probably be coming back into this soon, just for casual play through the story.

Any upcoming banners that would be recommended? Pretty annoyed with myself for not starting when Furina was still around because I liked her look a lot. The only 5* I have is still Yae Miko, though I do have all the characters used in the...was it called the National Team or something? That group of 4* boys everyone apparently used all the time.

Raiden is in the second half of this coming patch and is very good. Hard to say exactly without knowing 4 stars though.

Well she'll have Chevreuse at least! But yes Raiden is very good and slots right into the national team with Xingqiu, Xiangling, and Bennett.

The other banners I don't think are anything special unless you like the character designs. Ayaka is strong but has fallen out of favor, and her good teams are hard to assemble F2P because they require a lot of good 5* characters.

Besides that it's a pretty good time to come back though because not next patch but the patch after (4.4) will be the new year patch which always has more gem handouts and good reruns. They've been rerunning one archon per patch, so if this continues then Nahida should rerun then, unless they skip her for a patch to run more of the Chinese characters. If you have Yae then you want to look out for her, Nahida is one of her best supports and more generally is a contender for strongest character in the game.

Genshin is honestly so easy unless you absolutely feel like you need to 36* Abyss (Genshins MoC) you dont actually need any character. You can just run whatever as long as the character levels and talents are invested and gear is halfway passable

She's not mine either but FWIW the story turned me around on her. Her personality isn't overly cutesy like the other child characters, who for the most part I can't stand.

Ultimately what swordz said is right though and if you're casually doing the story, keeping up with gear, and just sticking to the AR you need to progress the plot, the game will be pretty easy. You've got plenty of good units to get you through the game. Kirara, Beidou, Xingqiu, and the free Dendro characters (Traveler and Collei) will buddy with Yae just fine for that.

So you should always pull for characters you like, but if you ever want to do the highest level combat, Nahida is a bit too good to pass up.

Ive got some HP stuff for Furina, but I keep forgetting what other stats she wants. Being so sleep deprived this week isnt helping either.

I got a Crit Rate GT Circlet with 2 HP stats, Crit DMG and ATK% on it so they might be useful on someone if not Furina at least. The 2 HP% main ones I have are junk though with DEF subs.

For Goblet Ive got HP% main with flat DEF, ER and Crit DMG, but otherwise nothing for them. My ER Sands had all shit subs sadly, but I do have an HP Sands with Crit DMG, Crit Rate, ER and EM so that seems solid? God artifact farming really needs a rework. I know its what people spend the most time on, but Id pay Hoyo to not have to bother with this

She wants HP%, crit and ER so yeah the HP sands sounds perfect and the others are okay with some good rolls. And she shouldn't need too much ER if you're putting her with another hydro and/or have some fav weapons on her team.

What weapon are you putting on her?

Shes got R5 Festering Desire since thats apparently her best free one from what I heard

My HP artifact ended up like this at lv20. Got 2 rolls into ER I think, but not bad!

HP% 46.6%, Crit Rate 10.9%, Crit DMG 12.4%, ER 18.1% and EM 16.

A flower ended up at ER 6.5%, Crit DMG 21%, Crit Rate 7% and HP 11.1%. Damn more Rate there wouldve been nice, but tolerable enough I guess.

This sounds fantastic for anyone who might want an HP sands. Literally can't lose here...or at least not in the way that rolling flat DEF 4 times is losing. Maybe you end up with 100 EM on a character not causing reactions, but there's always someone who could use it.

edit: In the end, 33 crit value with a lot of ER is great for a bunch of characters. Yelan would love such a piece, for instance (albeit in EoSF.)
