how do I make the cloud sync sync, its stuck syncing and i cant do a regular save

Apparently there's an issue with cloud saves, you might wanna turn them off for now.

I lost an hour and a half or so due to the save bug yesterday and not being able to save my game. Did some fiddling and got it working. Restarted again.

My dude is a half-elf Bard.

Also, Gale = Alistair? Seems a lot like him and is the reason he will be part of my main party.

Has anyone tried couch co-op yet? The one vid I've seen said that the second player can only play as a recruited companion. Is that true?

What would you even do? Just select where your player goes in battle and choose the attack rather than player 1?

My beefy Wood Elf Assassin Rogue, Adran. I'll post a pic when I get home, but he's not too much different looking than the default:

STR: 10
DEX: 16
CON: 16
INT: 8
WIS: 12
CHA: 12

My party will be Shadowheart, Lae'zel, and Wyll. I'm loving the changes I've seen so far from EA, and I can't wait to see what more they've done to change Wyll and the others, too.

Made it up to the Druid Grove, making sure that everyone survived the initial encounter, which seemed harder this time? I also feel fan freaking-tastic as I was able to get the Everburn Blade this time around, which turned Lae'zel into an absolute BEAST. Can't wait to get more playtime in tonight after the wife goes to bed.

Just fought some complete bs fight against some dude who could do like 3 attacks in one round and basically one-shotted everyone in my party

I made a half elf Druid who ended up looking like a discount store Geralt.

Im still debating whether to get this game or not. And if I do, should I wait for the PS5 version?

If you can run it on PC, then do so.

Easier/better to play and you can mod it.

Do you have at least a 3060 and 16 GB of RAM, and a relatively decent processor? Get the PC version. Especially once mods start to come out. Otherwise, wait for PS5.

Never played a Baldur's Gate game.

Not really into RPGs.

Playing a Tiefling Bard. Just yot off the ship and gathered up my party. Loving it so far

Ok, thanks. My only real reason to do console is so I can play with some of my other friends who have a PS5. I don't have one yet but this game is making me consider buying one.

What difficulty did you guys choose? I typically like to play JRPGs on hard because that's the only difficulty that actually needs strategy, but I find WRPGs on the other hand tend to have nonsense on high difficulty. How is Tactician

Damn, I thought I was being clever by sending all my camp supplies to the camp, but for some reason it only counts them if they're in your inventory. Guess I'll just give them all to Lae'zel since she has the highest carrying capacity.

Also have you guys seen there's a Gameplay option called "karmic dice", on by default, described as "Karmic dice avoid failure or success streaks, while keeping the results mostly random."

I think I'm gonna turn it off, seems like you just trade the chance of losing several rolls in a row to knowing you're gonna tank a roll soon after several successes

yeah I didn't see that option in EA but I turned it off. I feel like getting 3+ 1s in a row would be very rare but if that happened I'd probably just quick load anyway >_>

It's funny because if it was a hidden gameplay feature I'd possibly have a better experience overall but because I know about it I'd be able to expect the mechanic

Also, it's been a long time since I played a game that makes my computer sound like this :0

Yeah, I turned karmic dice off from the beginning. It seems like mathematically it works out to hurting more than helping.

Balanced, the other option seemed too combat focused for my character whose strength is supposed to be avoiding combat.

I just googled it and this GamerRant article says:

The leap from Explorer to Balanced difficulty is not too big, as enemies just get more HP and attacks are less likely to hit. Comparatively, the leap from Balanced difficulty to Tactician is enormous.
Not only do enemies get a boost to their HP, the fights themselves change in Tactician mode. More enemies show up, there are more environmental hazards to be wary of, and to make matters even worse, it appears that enemies adopt new strategies in combat like going for spellcasters, and aiming to outright kill their foes rather than just down them.

When enabling Tactician mode, be prepared for a hefty challenge. This hardest BG3 difficulty is not for the frail-hearted or even players who think they're "pretty good" at the game. Tactician difficulty is an entirely different combat experience, one that's only meant for seasoned veterans of Larian Studios' CRPG games and masters of the Dungeons and Dragons Fifth Edition ruleset.

Karmic dice is great for attack focused characters while not so great for tank focused. Even though it will prevent you from constantly rolling low, it will also prevent the enemies from constantly rolling low. Just making everything faster in combat. When considering everything it will only make combat very slightly easier if not exactly the same just faster.

The main reason I used it, however, and the reason it was suggested is that you could potentially miss out on way too much content if you just keep rolling low. It just makes the game way more consistent as a whole.

It is very much up to the person on how they want to play but it is the recommended default setting.

yeah that's a good point. if someone just constantly had awful luck the game would be terrible without reloading all the time

i dont seem to get many 1s or 20s but Im always losing the 7-15 rolls by like 1 or 2

is there a way to see what stat a skill check goes against before you roll? I havent found one yet

Check the little thingy to the left of the option.

It'll give you the skill but not your bonus or the roll itself, I think.

Think I'm going to go Sorcerer, should be fun!

Are the romances different? I was going for a shadowheart romances and all the options seem off

I see, so this guide I'm looking at, ignore all the shit with weird abbreviations. I don't want to be battle mage so I guess Draconic it is.

If there aren't, there will be. I saw a Hexblade mod not so long ago for EA, so I have to imagine that other classes will make it at some point for the full release.

Can't wait for Samurai and Soulknife myself.

I happened to go to the druid grove ASAP this time instead of getting lost and ending up at the goblin camp like in EA. should make it much easier to kill all the goblins later on >_>
