They ruined sonic x though watching sub and dub of sonic x is night and day with the voice acting quality and music choice. I think about how I absolutely fucking hate Usopp and the fact that he hasn't died means there's nothing in that show for me to look forward to. ~~I remember when I gave it a chance back in high school and there's that episode where they think Nami killed Usopp, only for it to not be true. Biggest fuck you to the viewers I've ever seen.~~ Also how overtly obnoxious the entire crew is sans Zoro and Robin, but Usopp is like peak obnoxious comedic relief for the sake of obnoxious comedic relief. I only ever watched the 4kids dub and I cannot imagine how a show about goofy pirates could be entertaining enough to watch 1k+ episodes In terms of writing, characters, world building, emotional moments, etc., its in a league of its own as far as shnen goes, and I would argue Oda deserves to be in the conversation about greatest fantasy authors alongside Tolkien, Jordan, Kay, Sanderson, etc. But its also absurdist fantasy like Discworld is, and a lot of people just cant get past the purposefully absurd character designs and behavior etc. For what its worth, One Piece is the second highest selling comic of all time with 535.5 million units sold. Superman is number 1 with 600 million units sold, but Superman started in 1937 and One Piece started in 1997.
