As someone who has employed many a gimmick alt in my heyday I agree and would have no issue with that

Part of the fun of having gimmicks is the anonymity but I'd honestly prob make the same jokes regardless

No websites do that. Probably because legally they can't.

Usermap essentially would show you who is tied to what alts. There would be no "Is this yet another a Zeus alt?" because we'd all be able to see that one poster was logging into multiple accounts.

I'm guessing they'd never do this because of privacy concerns but I think if they changed the TOS to include a warning that usermaps would become transparent then users wouldn't have much ground to object to such a change

it doesn't even matter how old your account is, if you say you're like 10 as a joke, you get suspended, it's the one thing the mods here have never played around with, because then they would be violating things

gamefaq's ass is covered by their terms of use, full stop. making usernames shown doesn't violate coppa even if that did apply, since the username is already there and freely seen. associating it with other accounts by the same person does not violate anything since, again, publicly visible. moreover,

coppa is only for personal information. a publicly viewable username is not personal. personal information is age, sex, birthdate, location, browsing information, ect. the shit that's not publicly viewable.

and, once more for feeling

coppa does do anything here because it's only for people under the age of 13. gamefaqs requires you to be at least 13 years old to register.

if you're lying about your age to make an account here, that's you violating gamefaqs terms of service, and when discovered, will result in a ban until you can legally prove you are at least 13 or older.

try it yourself rev, say you're 10 years old. what'll happen is you get suspended, then allen will scold you, rightly so since you're wasting everyones time, and ask you to provide legal identification proving your age to reinstate your account.

If I were owner of Gamefaqs, I would actually try my best to enforce the rules given a group's posting history so that there is no mob rule. Gamefaqs is one of those sites where grown men and women try to flame someone indirectly under the nose of moderators(and some moderators are guilty of actually being aware they are allowing it just to moderate the victim), damage someone's reputation by starting rumors and political lies or not reaching out and understanding the arguments, gaslighting as you would call it, so other people, who's brain has been warped by chronic posting and reading on the internet, can get in on the action and flame that guy as well cause they believe what the group said so much about him. Why do they indirectly flame? To get the posters with good intentions to flame them back directly so that they can get moderated. Gamefaqs is just like another video game grown ups play so they can see how many times they can evade the ToS while getting others to get banned indefinitely or permanently. Now I'm not saying there aren't any posters that don't deserve to get banned, but some have been criminalized as the bad guy while the "good" posters have been getting away with all the threats, lies, and doxing. Not sure if doxing is allowed on this site, but sure isn't in places like reddit. It's so that sites don't get traffic and money. Anyway, there would be new enforcements and some kind of fairness to be given to each group, so that no one gets privileges especially those that try to bring in new topics to light. It's so it can steer conservation away from those getting the most spotlight and balance out the kinds of topics out there.

Fun fact: When I was a mod, one of my suggestions was to get rid of usermaps entirely because they are really easy to get around. In fact you would be surprised how many alts aren't tied together simply because people don't log into it on the same computer/phone as their main, even if they share the same wifi network with it.

sell it for all its worth and then buy a pizza with the 20 dollars i just made.

Managing this site isnt an aspiration of mine, so Id just sell it.
