Former President Donald Trump faced new charges Thursday in a case accusing him of illegally possessing classified documents, with prosecutors alleging that he asked a staffer to delete camera footage at his Florida estate in an effort to obstruct a federal investigation into the records.

So Trump, if you're so confident that the Presidential Records Act allows you to keep these documents then why did you feel the need to delete camera footage of you arranging to have these boxes of classified documents moved? Sounds to me like you knew what you were doing was wrong.

After the horrendous beat down she got from the fully conservative circuit she knows her hands are tied. She's not gonna be able to just let him walk. Even if she sustains every objection from the defense it's an uphill battle for Trump.

Nah, she's still helping him and doesn't care how it looks. She's banking on Trump becoming a judge and elevating her to some high level judicial position. All she has to do is keep pushing back his court date until it's eventually after the election, which if Trump wins that, then it becomes irrelevant.

It's different here. Pushing too much will cost her everything if she gets recommended for disbarment. The circuit court in charge of that already really doesn't like her.

We could have a signed confession and video of him writing it, and it wouldn't matter. She'll drag her feet and draw it out as long as possible, which is easy enough for her to do. If Donnie wins reelection, day 1 he makes this go away. Period.

I doubt they will. It would be hard for them to find justification and Biden definitely isn't someone who wants to look like he's seeking retribution against anybody on the judicial side, even if it's justifiably so.

Most likely is she just does it and gets away with it, we have other judges who do that, such as Kazmeryck or whatever in TX.

It would be the dumbest decision he would ever make if he did. Ford pardoned Nixon, helping him escape accountability for his crimes, and as a result he lost reelection, which he even agreed was the case. It just helps further establish the bad precedent that we shouldn't hold Presidents, the highest office in the nation and thus having the most ability to do damage if they become corrupt or criminal, to any real sort of accountability or to the law.

Whatever stupid attempt he'd be making at pacifying the MAGA fascist terrorists would just end up putting the GOP candidate (likely Trump) into office as an almost guarantee.

It's one thing for Dem voters to be disappointed because the party isn't left enough, however pardoning literal Donald Trump would wound the Dem party for several elections at least, and at that point the Christo-fascists would have all the governmental positions they needed to end democracy anyways.
