Now this is a fucking VIDEO GAME

It was basically pulled right from Asuras Wrath, and I was overjoyed.

Yes and no.

On one hand, it was an awesome battle with even better OST behind.

On the other hand, it felt like 10 hours of interactive cutscenes, and less like a video game boss fight.

In the end, it was something that felt like 10 hours of awesome battlecutscenes with even better OST.

(I admit, I was like "okay, let's just beat titan and then go to bed". Welp, that was a mistake.)

The Leviathan fight in 15 was the biggest croc of shit I've ever seen in a video game. As long as the summon fights in 16 are better than that I will be reasonably satisfied.

It is definitely the most epic I've played in the game yet but im not finished. It is super easy battles though when using eikons.

I thought Bahamut's was better, both musically, stylistically and plot wise.

It's so much fun, and just keeps getting more ridiculous as you go.

I honestly still like Titans fight better. The music randomly changing to industrial rock was such an absurd choice compared to the rest of the game and i loved it

The music was certainly a choice.

I hated the music. I really don't get what people loved about it, I thought it was just an awful numetal 2002 style song trying to be edgy. It felt EXTREMELY out of place to me amidst the bombast and the grandeur of orchestral and vocal swells and dips.

I haven't played FF14 which apparently got people all giddy due to the same music choice, but I'm definitely on the other side of the fence of "that song was awesome".

FF has had "random" rock/metal tracks in them for forever, so I don't get why people act like it's unheard of. Look at Otherworld from X.

Personally, I loved the music in the Titan fight. Nice change of pace, and I think it worked for that specific fight really well.

I also just like that style of music a lot personally, so eh.

I didnt really feel any edge from any of titans songs. If anything, the fact that it was so out of place compared to everything before it made me like it MORE.

Yeah that's fine, I think I just REALLY like the rest of the OST in 16. Like, all of it. All the fight music and eikon battles were just...chef's kiss. So this was the opposite of what I wanted and I recall hearing how much people loved the Titan fight and I thought the music was just a complete distraction.

This is all my opinion, of course. I just LOVED the rest of the soundtrack, like I thought it was just unreal and so good.

The summon fights in 16 are basically a "this is how you fucking do it" to the sad excuse of the Leviathan fight in 15, if we're being honest.

The Titan fight is the most fun I've had in a JRPG boss fight since the final battle in KH2. And then FF16 stunted by whipping out an even crazier boss fight a couple hours later.

You had 2 fights with Human titan. Then the first eikon. It with titan lost that it gets more cutscene heavy. Some people complain about "qtes" during fights, but I think the game uses them more like a cherry on top rather than rely on them like GOW.

The Titan fight reminded me of a Sonic game.

I prefer the Bahamut fight, two much quicker forms instead of three overly long ones.

As an FF14 player hearing that music kick in was cool as hell.

Also I had forgotten Platinum was announced to have helped develop parts of the game. Titan was definitely part Platinum.

Yeah, the OST during the Titan fight was amazing. My adrenaline started to blast through the roof when Clive started charging and that music kicked in. One of the few 11/10 moments I can think of in video games.

Yeah, everything after that really felt like a step down. I liked some parts of Odin and Ultima, but they were altogether way weaker than Titan and Bahamut. They really blew their load early with the boss fights, and then kinda fizzled out afterwards.

I agree, I thought the final fight was pretty crazy but from a more actually playing standpoint. They got a lot of wild moves that can chew you up. When I beat it I was out of all my potions.

Its literally a callback to the two Titan themes from FF14, which is why a lot of us were hyped for it. So good.

Yeah I said that in a later comment, I didn't play FF14 to the point of getting to Titan (think the most I got to was Ifrit? Ironically enough. If that is the first big summon / eikon to fight against) so it didn't have any of that impact for me.

Mostly the second phase of Titan Lost was the biggest callback, when the music changed. FF14 players recognized the "tone" instantly.

I feel like I'm the only FFXIV who hated the Titan theme lol.

Anyway TC, wait for the next Eikon fight. That one's so far my favorite, and not just because the music is absolutely badass.

Yes, i feel the same way. The final fight really took advantage of being able to fully move in a 3d space, which i really enjoyed. The later attacks were really damaging if you fucked up

Not just that but the soundtrack was fucking mindblowing. And the pure insanity of what was going on on the screen had me at times like "what the fuck is even happening??" in the best way. It FELT like a final boss of a super long game. Just constantly shifting into more madness but Clive being a fucking Adonis the entire time countering.

This is the best mainline FF soundtrack since, imo, VIII. It might even be the best one made yet, in fact.

I really have to agree, like songs always help almost anything they are a part of (games, movies, tv, theater, plays, whatever). But it takes some serious skill to match the music with what is going on properly, and even if I might not have liked one of the ways they were used, overall I thought it was absolutely amazing how the songs constantly changed depending on what was going on in the fight. And it just kept that bombastic chorus focused oomph almost all throughout. Hell, I LOVE the straight boss / heavy duty enemy song despite hearing it a billion times!

But then you can get to the calmer, quieter songs and those are just as good! I particularly love the Memory Wall music, and when I realized I could change my hideout song in the first act, I immediately set that one up.

I personally hated the Titan fight because it didnt feel like I was actually playing the game. And it was too long.
