I tried everything. I used a snake and it got a ton of stuff out. I poured hot water down the drain and afterwards, for some reason, it became COMPLETELY clogged. I've let it sit for like 15 minutes and it's not going down at all. I've tried a plunger and the snake a whole bunch more and nothing is happening. I don't know what to fuckin do.

I can't really do this since it'll just pool there. There's water above the drain and it's not going down.

When you plunged it did you make sure to block off other routes for the air to come back through? You might have to unscrew the plate with the shower/tub selector and stuff it up with a wet wash cloth.

I can't promise it'll work for you, but when I have this problem, the thing that works best is to use a plunger on the drain just the same as if you were using it on a toilet.

edit: Just saw you've already tried that, as well as hot water. Well, try adding dishwashing soap to it also... might help loosen up whatever's in there.

That's how clog removing liquid is designed though. It sinks through water to the drain and works better when there's a full on clog and the remover can sit on it.

I had something weird happen where there was seemingly some kind of solid block right under the strainer. Like I poked it aggressively with a coat hangar and there was no give or chipping. I have no idea what kind of backflow or whatever occurred to cause that. Everything else was working fine, though.

I made plans to pull the strainer the next day after work, but my uncle stepped in while I was out. The answer apparently was some chemical leftover in the house I wasn't aware of (forgot the name, wasn't Drano) + plunging + more chemical and hot water.
I thought the plunger would've made it worse by making it go deeper, but the combo just....worked. I kinda want to avoid chemicals, but I'll just have to take that.

If the chemical unblockers don't work, then you may have a problem with limescale build up.

Everything you put down there just sits on the limescale, and you're going to need a plumber.

It kills the piles because it eats through everything, including (eventually) the material the pipes are made out of. But occasional use when nothing else works should be fine.

Depends on your drain. I dealt with a sink clog and our pipe went down literally like 90+ ft cuz of the way the house was weirdly restructured. Most places don't go beyond 50 ft, so renting a 25 ft snake and trying to pull away some of the hair stuck in there is a good first step.

Cuz if you don't... it'll cost you 200~1000 dollars. Those plumbers are not cheap

Insufficient, the drain is a heretic. Glass the entire hive district. Failing that, collapse the hive's structural supports. If not that, then prepare exterminatus via cyclonic torpedo barrage.

we're all eating through everything.

there's one very important thing one should never do. never pour grease down a sink or dump alot of tampons into a toilet. (both will get very clogged and cost alot of money).

I hate when people do this. My friends and I were staying at a nice penthouse near Vegas and one of them cooked us all veal parmesan. So he fried it all up and then poured like a dozen or so veal cutlets worth of grease right down the hotel drain. That shit immediately seized up completely and made the sink unusable.

Drain cleaner is a caustic solution and it works by breaking down things, and things include your pipes.

Its not going to immediately dissolve your pipes when you use it but it does damage over time and most plumbing that people utilize is old to begin with.

I get close to doing that when we vacation until my lady reminds me.
At home, I have bottles for new oil and used oil, so it's second nature to pour grease into the used oil and then rinse out the pan. Without the used oil, my impulse is just to rinse the pan until someone reminds me to not put it down the drain.
My local mechanics are getting to know me because i recycle my oil there. It feels weird pouring grease into a garbage when you're used to collecting it.

Depending on how old it is, try taking the plug/unplug face off and see if there's a pipe with a hole in in it.....stuff a wet washcloth down there to create a seal and start plunging, should work fairly quickly

Well it's a good thing it wasn't a snake then. I'm fully aware of how much stuff costs. The method we had to do was a full pipe cleaning water jet. There wasn't a 100m snake around for some hundred miles, and if we ordered them, it would've cost us even more due to traveling fees and specialty fees.

The only thing fucked up is the fact that the pipes are DIY and heavily elongated due to a massive remodel that happened near the bottom floor of the house. There was no cheap option
