Don't think this would change much. Hitler didn't turn out the way he did because of being rejected from art school and even if you remove Hitler from the equation someone else would have led the Nazi party to most of the same ends.

Im not so sure about that. You needed a public speaker with some vigor and charisma. The Nazis up until that point were just a bunch of drunkards at a bar.

Well, the Great Revolt in Judea is definitely one of those what if events.

Early Christians used it to spread their religion by stating that the destruction of the Jewish temple was punishment for the rejection of Jesus. Its also a turning point for Jews who go from being a tribe in the Middle East to a people spread out around the world. I mean without that event and the subsequent building of the rabbinic school at Yavneh, you could be looking at a world where monotheism doesnt take hold as the dominant religion in the world.

But lets be clear, the Great Revolt wasnt the Romans fucking over Judea, it was a bunch of moronic religious zealots who thought they could take on the worlds superpower because they had the power of god on their side.

Someone should have taught that lesson to Osama.

Especially since the reality is if Nazis actually won the war they wouldn't have been able to hold power for long, and would not be in power today.

When I think of Rome fucking over Judea, I mostly think of Hadrian's war on the province.

An alternate history where Hannibal succeeds in defeating Rome would be amazing to see because of how different world history would actually be and it's effects on how the modern world turned out, but very hard to write because of how little we actually know about Carthage.

The war likely would have happened regardless, the holocaust is much more of a gray area. All Hitler really did was weaponize the enemy of the day as a scapegoat to rally against like demagogues have done throughout history. Hell, we're seeing it with transpeople and conservative parties of today.

Whether it would have reached the targeted extermination levels under a leader that wasn't Hitler we'll never know.

Would Germany even have won the war without America intervening? My understanding is they were already losing at that point, America just made it happen faster.

Soviets would have crushed them. Basically in order for Germany to win the war, the entire Russian army has to get plague and die, and America has to not get involved. Only then do they just have a chance at winning.
