CopyMan1 07/17/23 4:08:24 PM #1:	Usage of the app falls drastically, faster than anyone expected: 1) Daily Active Users dropped from a peak of 45 million when it launched on July 6 to 28 million on July 13. That's approximately 38% lower. 2) Time spent per user has tanked from 20 mins on July 7 to around 5 mins by July 11. That's a 75% reduction in usage over 4 days! During the same period, Twitter metrics remained virtually unchanged. The exodus many feared yet again did not materialize. On Friday I tweeted on Tuesday and Wednesday, the app's daily active users (the metric that matters) were down about 20% from Saturday, and the time spent per user was down 50%, from 20 minutes to 10 minutes. These numbers were concerning for Meta at the time, and today things have gotten a lot worse. This is getting embarrassing for Meta as their app is fast becoming a background download that hardly anyone uses. Let's say person C responds to person B who is responding to person A, person A will get a notification even though the person C responding to person B had nothing at all to do with person A. This has personally led to past confusion for me as I thought someone was responding to my post when they really weren't. It also has this weird habit of makin posts just disappear temporarily. Sometimes I'll see a like or response to one of my posts, and when I go there the amount of posts that used to be there are reduced (and not in the sense that they are all highly offensive or anything) and sometimes even my own is gone, which is annoying when trying to figure out who is responding to me with what. And finally, there's no edit button. I don't know who the fuck actually finds that appealing or wise for a discussion setting, however IG recently had this update that allows for a new feature in the comments section, yet they didn't add the damn ability to edit. Really sucks when you type out a lengthy response only to catch some easily fixed mistakes, however cause there's no edit you've then got to choose between retyping that whole thing or looking occasionally illiterate from the perspective of others reading your posts. For the longest time the thing I disliked most about Twitter was also that there was no edit button, and as much as I dislike Musk, I'll at least give him credit as being the person who finally added one.
