Personally, no. But I'm all for getting stricter, in ways that can help mitigate such incidents.

But the thing is even then. Alcohol is not made with the sole purpose of inflicting lethal damage.

Also there are countries where such school shootings don't take place, or anything of that nature. Were it works and makes sense.

Well I do have some but they are largely just collection items and hand me downs. I keep up with them but the only one I care about is a shotgun with birdshot I keep mounted behind the bed. Less likely to penetrate drywall which is good because I don't want to shoot my kids if someone breaks into the house.

And I can get behind that. I made the mistake.

I mean, I think any normal and sane person doesn't want school shootings or gun violence. I'm not even against it being tougher to get a firearm. It's just like these topics always seem to paint all gun owners as as absolute pieces of crap because they own a gun. I honestly don't shoot very often and do keep everything locked and secured with the ammunition in a different locked location too.

Belief certainly works better in that regard. Technically speaking you "believe" in the nonexistence of a deity but that's all semantics.

My dad has never brought it up but I assume he is against firearms as his dad was shot as a bystander in a bar dispute. So our house hold never had firearms.

i own multiple guns that I bought legally and it should be harder to purchase guns

in florida you can sell your gun to someone else as long as you reasonably believe they are an upstanding citizen

thats the gun show loophole. There are private sellers that can sell you a gun without a background check

there are gun shops there as well that sell, but there a people that walk around selling guns as private sellers

Oh look, the classic "you're not allowed to have an opinion on something I base my identity off of unless you can demonstrate you're a bigger fetishist than me" defense which almost always comes from people who know fuck all about immigration and yet spend their days hatemongering against people they'll never meet and will never affect their lives.

i have one disassembled and buried in the deep recesses of my closet, it hasn't been fired since probably the 80s.

wife has one too, more accessible but still properly stored away. better with it than i am, but still wildly out of practice and last took it to the range prolly a decade ago.

both are just .22 long rifles so not exactly a strong line of defense anyways.

Par for course for those who are both egotistical and selfish.

I can't have a gun in my home because I've really lost it mentally a couple of times in the past throughout my life due to extreme depression and stress, I'm better now about managing my emotions, like even through I still have depressive episodes every once and a while even when everything is going fine it never gets to the points it got to in the past but I still don't trust myself with a gun around as I never knew when life will punch me in the balls and I'll not only relapse into what I used to be but probably end up even worse. So no guns, not now, not ever.
