It's on Gamepass. Anyone give it a shot yet? I haven't seen any reviews of it.

It's got bad reviews on steam. I'd hold out for a bit

I've yet to come across anyone who was even slightly excited for this game.

It's pretty fun as a multiplayer horde game. It's really nothing like Dino Crisis, apart from...dinosaurs. I'm sure the weird comparison isn't doing it favors in terms of expectations set.

Depends on which Dino crisis you're talking about. It's extremely similar to Dino crisis 3, which is barely like Dino crisis 2, which is barely like Dino crisis 1.

Oh, that'll do it. I only played 1 and 2. I thought those were the only two most people care/think about?

Capcom will look at the poor sales of this dinosaur game and say "Looks like nobody likes dinosaur games". And thus, Dino Crisis Remake never came into existence.

Looks like mindless fun tbh. I'm thinking of grabbing the game since I don't really have anything else to play right now aside from master duel.

But then can't someone point at Ark. Not saying I want a survival craft game from Capcom, but dinosaurs are still totally heat. I'll be making a druid in Baldur's Gate 3 after Swen mentioned a dinosaur shapeshift lol

I played one of the demos and didnt think it was too much fun. Im sure it gets better as you learn the suits and mechanics, but I anticipate it becoming a pretty dead game in a month or two.

The SF6 crossover preorder DLC skins was the most obvious red flag of all time.

You're not wrong that when people think DC they think DC1. It's just that DC has never stuck to a single genre and hasn't been "RE with dinosaurs" since 1999. Even within the franchise, a new DC wouldn't have been like DC1 either.

It's unquestionably better than DMC2.

I tried the beta. The PVE stuff is fun, but then of course they have to shove in a PVP thing at the end of the match which made it unfun imo.

No thanks. I bought that Starship Trooper game instead

IIRC they said they made modes without pvp at one of the last presentations because everyone hated it.

Played a few rounds on gamepass last night. It's fun and simple. I don't see it having staying power, but with some friends it'll be fun for a week or so unless they really change things up the further in you get.

PvP is optional after you do your first match. Really just a baseline game.

That can work if the gameplay loop is fun. Just look at Serious Sam.

I bet it will be as much of a success as Redfall.

To further your point, there was actually an oft-forgotten 4th game in the series for the PS2 called Dino Stalker which continues on from plot points that happened in Dino Crisis 2 and starring a couple of returning characters. It's also a light-gun game!

This is one of the those games that will have its servers shut down by next year

so a game nobody asked for is getting bad reviews.

should have given us actual Dino Crisis next time Capcom!

If Lost Planet can get a character in a vs capcom game, this can too.

it's not my """big idea""" because i'm not a game developer trying to pitch a new project, but it's certainly something i would have been more interested in than the random bullshit they threw together that should have been left on the cutting room floor
