Yeah, as much as I like Paine she doesn't fit into my Hot Guy Summer saving theme. Regardless, I really was pulling for her there against everyone at the end but Vincent so ouchie final two for me.

Squall is the main one I think of for improving my impression of a character

there's cases where dffoo introduces me to a character, like Lilisette, but then I played FFXI and she's even better. On the other hand Kam'lanaut & Eald'narche have an interesting relationship but then from playing XII I was completely disappointed in their lack of presence in the actual game. Kinda like how Shantotto is so prominent in representing XI but then she's not really a significant character in the game at all.

oh Vayne was another one that was portrayed well towards the end of Act 1, been the only villain that's like a sane non-evil voice at the time (Ardyn is another such antagonist now, but that takes until Act 3)

Tifa definitely is a wild BT, it came back last month so got some more use again... but so did General Leo who also does great single target DPS and I'll definitely pick him over Tifa in a team.

Sephiroth went up yesterday... and I pulled for his BT and fully built him because he's got a cool gimmick that enables cheesing some things with Yda. Also holy crap he has a Safer Sephiroth alt I can't pretend I wouldn't love to use. Not enough to push me at that price though, yet.
