And with the Fade you get so many ability boosts, it's fantastic. Admittedly I don't remember what you get from the Deep Roads but I love them stats boosts from the Fade tbqh

All the fade defending is making me sick. Deep Roads were annoying the first time but they are nowhere close to as tedious.
Bullshit. Deep Roads were boring as fuck and worst of all, LONG!

Deep roads has loot at least so my brain gets that dopamine hit every once in a while.

The Fade to me feels like someone played either Kameo, or Threads of Fate, thought it was the coolest shit ever and wanted something similar in DA:O.

All the loot down there had rather specific builds in mind. If you were a mage, everything was useless. The Fade didn't care. All builds and classes could benefit from permanent stat increases.

The lack of loot is one thing (I was fine with it since in my inventory only had a few spots left) but those stat boosts are WAAAY nicer imo.

You know what? I'm also gonna speak up against the dwarven politics bashing too!

They have such a fascinating and at the same time frustrating society with their caste system. And the moral conflict there was a good one. Do you support the good man Harrowmont who is also a traditionalist and will stagnate dwarven society or do you support Prince Bhelen who is a fratricidal asshole who will nonetheless push dwarven society forward and reform it? This has extra weight if you're a Dwarven Noble (one of the better origins too). I don't think dwarves were ever portrayed this way in fantasy fiction before either so points for originality too!

I guess that's why I forgive the Deep Roads being a bit tedious and boring, because the other Orzammar stuff makes up for it.

It's just KoTOR with a fantasy twist.

Actually, it's just Neverwinter Nights III but without the D&D systems and then further dumbed down to suit EA's development philosophy.

Inquisition was legit great, dont know where all this hate came from after the release.

I wouldn't quite call it great. It was decent with a few cringy moments and dull storytelling.

Honestly, the Dragon Age series as a whole has never really had strong villains. They tend to revolve more about social disorder and how it provides opportunities for ne'er-do-wells to seize power. The villains, more often than not, are opportunists taking advantage of a chaotic situation.

In DA1, the Darkspawn are as much a force of nature as anything, used by Loghain to gain power - he's ultimately brought down by managing the Darkspawn threat and subsequently turning the mechanisms of the state against him.

In DA2, you spend the entire game in a city that's constantly teetering on the edge of disorder, whether from the Quinari or the Mage/Templar conflict. Despite Hawke's best efforts, they can't stop the inevitable collapse into violence.

In DA:I, Corypheus is an opportunist operating through a fanatical cult who takes advantage of civil conflict in Orlais and Ferelden in a bid for godhood. Once the Inquisitor manages to settle the Mage/Templar conflict and the Orlesian Civil war, Corypheus and the Venatori are immediately put on the defensive.

Good games (for the most part) with some very memorable characters.
Havent really thought about it but these are some very good points. Fascinating series

I'm tired! I went to the Deep Roads once to find a lord and I thought that was what the hubbub was over. Then after crashing a gangster hideout I'm sent back to the Roads and NOW I understand. In general, it feels like Orzammar treaty area is keeping me for a really long time.
