I honestly think when someone becomes famous they need to have someone to stick around and keep them in check. Like a parent, a childhood friend or someone on a similar level who isn't afraid to give their honest opinion.

When celebrities don't have this shit like this happens. They end up believing everything they do is art and perfect because that's what everyone around them tells them. Failing to realise it's their job to validate their bullshit and make it work even if they think it's shit.

His dumbass also causing the first director to leave and then having to reshoot everything did the show no favors either

So glad I gave up after an episode and a half. I could only tolerate so much stupid. Also I could not take one more moment of The Weeknds character on screen. My God he was horrendous.

It seemed like the entire show was lets be as edgy and sexy as possible to get 45 year old divorcees hot and bothered! Well worry about the rest later.

Also lets not forget that this was an actual line of dialogue.

Showgirls is at least a fun watch IMO. I will watch this trainwreck but I'm not expecting much, haha.

Did the remaining episodes have this insanely explicit content? Another thing I remember was despite the too hot for TV controversy before it premiered, what I saw was pretty standard HBO fare (tacked on profanity/sex talk and manufactured steamy moments).

I was trying to spin it that Showgirls was explicitly the same thing but that was almost intentionally campy it's watchable.

for what it's worth, it did have it's share of moments that were so bad they made me laugh. lmao

People are banging, other people are watching said characters bang from afar as they pleasure themselves. All to a 1970s porn saxophone or some shit. I liked it. If this came out years ago I would hate it. But its such a palette cleanser for everything else on tv now.
