I never watched Disney channel when I was young because it was with more of the expensive channels. Once it got on all the channels I was a teenager. I still enjoyed that show Even Stevens though. But that was a pretty popular one.

This show definitely deserves more views I don't know how to convince people to watch it, it's so damn hilarious. And as someone who grew up on early disney renaissance, the similarity of the songs to little mermaid/aladdin etc was definitely cool. Also some of the original songs are just legit entertaining and hilarious.

Dave the Barbarian was pretty funny. Dumb, but funny.

There was a disney movie that took me by surprise. It had a girl from South Africa coming to the states with the African American girl expecting a black girl only to turn out to be a white British girl. They even flat out said the N-word in it. It was a very mature movie... for a disney channel movie.

As a kid I really loved that actor and enjoyed seeing him pop up in other stuff, like one time in Smallville, one time in Scrubs... it was super sad finding out that he struggled with bipolar and committed suicide.

We didnt really have it as I was growing up, but I remember some old Disney-esque shows. I cant remember if they were Disney or Nickelodeon though. Flash Forward is the only one I can bring to mind the name of.

I remember some old Nickelodeon shows I would watch at my aunt and grandmothers houses more clearly, like Salute Your Shorts, Olmec and the Hidden Temple, Double Dare, etc.

Modern Disney would never dream of having a white girl dropping a n-bomb with a hard -er on made for TV movie.

The scene is linked elsewhere on YouTube, got modded once for linking to it for spreading hate messages or some ish because it couldnt be talked about.

Nobody seems to remember Mickey's 60th Birthday at all, which was basically a "cartoons lives in a real world a la Roger Rabbit", which had crossovers with then popular TV series like Family Ties, Cheers, Hunter, L.A. Law and The Cosby Show.
To be fair, it aired on NBC, but it did appear on Disney Channel Europe 20 years later.

I fondly remember the DCOM "Pixel Perfect".

For a kid's movie, it has surprisingly mature themes about the humanity of AI and what it means to be human. It was like a child-focused "Bicentennial Man" but with a holographic girl instead of a robotic man.

One of my favorite lines in the movie is when the protag's female friend (who has a crush on him) finds out he made a holographic girl using body part references from the girls he knows, including her. She forces him to tell her what part of her he used for the hologram and he tells her it was her ears. She's like "So I guess that was the only part of me you thought was worth keeping". That hit me hard back in the day.

Another powerful scene was the guy trying to explain the feeling of "touch" to the hologram girl using music notes, and failing since the feeling can't be replicated.

I was just thrilled it got a second season. That was a good surprise at the time.

It was hilarious but it never was going to be for a mainstream audience. The fact we got some sort of closure (though still a cliffhanger just in case another miracle could be worked) was nice.
