The topic at hand? People recommend podcasts to me pretty frequently, but damn. I'm trying to hear about weird history or crazy murders. I don't want to hear about Jessica and Tiffany's Sunday brunch where they thought about inviting Gina but decided not to because she's probably tired from her at-home birth. I get that the shows need an intro, but what intro takes up a third of an episode?

I'd go with documentary channels instead.

I'd listen to different podcasts then.

Like most things it varies by the podcast, also as people do listen to the same group for a while you tend to start to enjoy those segments more. Similar to an update from a friend type of thing, where if a friend tells you a story about something that happened to them you probably don't go "Damn dude shut up!"

But yeah some podcasts are much better at moving straight into the main topic of the show.

I also will point out you can skip ahead if you know they talk about 10-15 minutes before each one just skip to 10 minutes after the start.
