Really wish I didnt pass up on the Pirates of Barracuda Bay a few years ago. Would have gone great with this.

A couple weeks ago, my cat managed to launch both my UCS xwing and my space shuttle off their shelves in one go. 4000+ Lego pieces exploded all over my floor and mixed together. Managed to get them rebuilt with no broken parts and only 4 missing parts total. Now I've got big transparent acrylic blockers on both sides of the shelves to keep the cat out.

If I didn't own this one as a kid, I had one very similar.

ouch that's rough. when I was a kid I had the bug alien mothership and I dropped it when I was brining it to my friend's house to show him. it was so cool but I never put it back together because it was so many pieces.

my roomate is never around so I could put sets in her room but I'd never see them D:

I'm not a Lego person, but everytime they do these island-pirate themes I get severely tempted

It's a reimagining, so you likely did.

This and the pirate fortress one with the rope bridge were the two sets I always saw in Christmas catalogues and never got

The third was the millennium falcon but I got that as an adult

I want the big ass pirate and good guy ships that went with these, I had them both as a kid.

I could build the good guy one by heart when I was 9 and could eventually do the giant pirate one as well.

I had a really cool base plate from one of the Egyptian sets I would build all sorts of stuff on. It had a road or path going through it and some elevation changes.

I recently undertook the task of sorting all my old Legos, and this is one of the few sets that I sadly had to write off as lost - for whatever reason I ended up throwing out the baseplate at some point.

I saw this remake teased a couple months ago, and it's pretty tempting. Was never a fan of the primary yellow colors in the original though, so I'm a little disappointed they stuck with that now that they've got 30 years of color variation under their belt.

Holy shit I used to have this very set as a kid. I wasn't syre at first, but the outfits and the ramp up to the fortress jogged all kinds of childhood memories. The FEELS, man

My grandma's next door neighbor had the BIG ass pirate set - always had a massive soft spot for the pirate ships and themed sets, especially because that level set was (understandably) nowhere near in the budget for my parents.

it seems like it should be blue instead tbh

Crazy to think that I've got all the pieces for that sent sitting around in boxes, and could put it together and sell it if I wanted to (same with some of my other old sets, like the Black Knight's Castle).

Can't imagine a used version is worth even a fraction of that, though.
