Less, thankfully (I pay it off every month like poster #2). I really feel bad for a lot of people and I hope so much that we can fix things and give some relief to the people who need it.

tbh if you have any credit card balance at all that's credit card debt, even if you plan to pay it on time

What qualifies as debt? Just however much is currently on the card? Bc that's like $3k now but as others say, I just pay it all off at the end of the month.

Same. The only one I don't is if I use my Amazon Store card because it gives 6 months no interest. I only use that one sporadically so every two years or so I get a notification they are going to cancel it for inactivity and I'll buy a new Kindle or a console or something that isn't too much money just so they don't deactivate it.

I use three credit cards. Chase Amazon Prime for all Amazon purchases and Sapphire Preferred for all other purchases, used like a debit card. I pay both in full each month.

Then theres my Chase Slate Edge card which has $16,700 on it. All medical bills related to fertility treatments to get pregnant with our first daughter who was stillborn, then the associated bills from that stillbirth. The card is 0% til October then Ill balance transfer whatever is left to one of my Citi cards with a $40k limit that always has a 0% balance transfer for 15-18 months offer going on.

Medical debt doesn't technically count the same. If it did, I'd be way over. I'm at like $40k in medical debt I refuse to pay a cent of.

Edit: bonus because the credit system is super cool - my medical debt 'doesn't count' but selling it to a creditor and having it as 17 different lines hasn't helped my score much.

For me, most of my credit card debt is at 0% interest. I could pull from savings and investments to pay all of it off, but then I'd be losing out on dividends, interest, and capital growth.

I pay off the credit card debt that isn't at 0% interest every month. The ones that are at 0% interest I pay a little extra on every month to get a little bit ahead on the payment, but there's no real reason to pay that stuff off super early.

less. like others i pay it off and just don't buy stuff unless i can afford it. plus have a decent amount in savings for emergencies.

i don't get how debt is so high for some age groups. i get 20s for college debt. but 30s and 40s? a mortgage isn't the same unless you can't afford to pay it and using your credit card to cover some of it. then i can see 50+ for health reasons.

$0.00, as soon as I use my credit card I transfer money from my bank account directly into it. Often I have my credit card paid up before the bank can even register I've made a purchase with it.

Almost being bankrupt from a student loan made me paranoid about paying bills. I pay everything off immediately now. I'm only a month away from 5 years of car payments coming to an end and then I'm completely debt free.
