It's funny you ask, because some of the older ladies here at the apartment complex just created a garden a few weeks ago.

So...yes! But I haven't planted anything yet.

had one last year. Attempted to grow all sorts of vegetables, but in the end the only ones that survived bugs and random cold spots were tomatoes, potatoes and sugar snap peas. I'm actually sad about that, as I had carrots, cabbage, lettuce, peppers, garlic, onions in the big planter boxes. I grew herbs the previous year but messed that up royally as they spread ridiculously fast and started intertwining. I really didn't think think they would grow as well as they did, but my god they were everywhere.

It's not that weird

More weird that she has been great about them for the past month or two, then just ate and dug them up all today.

Like, it was just a bit unexpected. Now I basically have to start over. ;_:

We had a few tomato plants last year, but we recently had the yard leveled and a French drain put in so we're concentrating on just getting grass back in now. Parts of yhe yard would flood often so we wanted to fix it. Next year I want to grow some cucumbers or something though.

How big are the pots? Assuming they're not dying from over or under watering, I would assume nutrient deficiency. Zucchini plants are heavy feeders, so any deficiencies in manganese, sulfur, iron can cause yellowing.

This will typically start in the younger leaves and move to the older ones over time iirc.

I have two big raised beds but all I grow is chilis, that's about all that can tolerate the heat and sun out here.

I have 20 plants this year:

4 Tabasco
2 Orange Butch T Scorpion
1 Scotch Bonnet
1 Red Habanero
1 Carolina Reaper
3 Jalapeno
2 Serrano
1 Time Bomb
1 Thai Scorpion

I can't remember what the rest of them are off the top of my head...Got a lot of fruits already because I planted almost a month earlier than normal and we've had a lot of rain and cloudy weather. Now that full summer is on I expect to get less from the exotics until the fall.

Honestly it's pretty hard tell. If they're in 5 gallon pots each and have nutrient rich soil and have plant food it could be root damage, or disease perhaps? If you can I would get soil test kit and test the soil to see. And yeah, you can get all sorts of nutrients for your plants at any garden center in somewhere like home depot, Lowes, or even just Walmart/
Target.

You'd probably have a lot better luck taking pictures and asking on reddit tbh, I don't know much about zucchini. It's typically pretty easy and resilient, but like any other plant a lot can go wrong.

Is there anything else besides just yellow leaves? Wilting, dead leaves, flimsy stems, etc? Again, it would probably be better to ask reddit or see if someone in something like a garden center will look at it.

I live in a nature preserve so wildlife would eat anything unless I build a greenhouse.

Instead I grow bamboo and Mexican Sunflowers. I like growing tall, fast-growing woody plants that can also be used as privacy hedges. I started with a few and now have a whole field of them.

In the house I'm also raising some carnivorous plants (Venus flytraps and Pitcher Plants).

If its new and fresh soil, Id guess that its a fungal issue, overwatering, or pest issue. Neem Oil can help with 2 of those. Id probably buy the neem oil and a soil test kit to start to rule stuff out. They are much less expensive than manure or other fertilizers. Id also probably have some fertilizer/compost or manure(if you are comfortable with that) on hand because its likely you will eventually need to re-feed the plant.

Here there is like a 100 year old brick house in town that has a whole wall of Ivy and some type of flower growing up the side.

I have lettuce in a planter in the back.
My backyard is kinda wild...lots of ferns.

I do have a legit flower garden up front though.
That and tomatoes and a few other things, including Cat Nip that my Cat planted himself.
