And I find it hard to believe that nobody was aware of it until now. Even with the "they're not active boards" excuse though, if your rule is to have no politics boards it seems strange not to wipe them all out at the time of the official announcement. Waiting to do it after the fact is just sloppy and makes it look targeted. That will be true even if the rest of the boards do end up deleted at some point, it's not a good look to claim to be enforcing a new rule and then to wait this long. I understand why a lot of people hate Reddit but something off site definitely seems to be the way to go. Maybe a standalone forum, I dunno. CE has too many annoying people derailing the threads and unfortunately there's no topicality rule so they aren't breaking any rules by doing so. It has the occasional good politics thread but it doesn't really work as a dedicated political board. Plus I don't think this board is very long for this world from the looks of things. But elsewhere, they don't have any power to stop us. You can never truly destroy a community on the internet, because they'll always be able to move elsewhere. Funnily enough I have seen some of the usual trolls threatening they're going to run to the Reddit admins and try to get the sub shut down, but they don't understand how Reddit works, so the threats are empty. Mind you, Reddit doesn't have to be the main alternative if people can come up with something else, but the point is that they lose any leverage they have to shut down political discussion once it leaves GameFAQs. So if anyone does come up with a better alternative I would recommend posting about it on the sub so people can know about it. Anyway, since Starks is here I just want to take the opportunity to say thank you for accepting my invite request to Realpolitik or however it works. Even though I didn't end up getting the chance to make use of it because I lurk far more than I post.
