The fact that this show performed so badly that they literally cancelled the Blu-ray release, yet Crunchyroll actually wasted time and effort dubbing it, is still absolutely baffling to me. As for the show itself... I personally dropped it after 6 episodes. It was just kinda meh. Maybe you'll like it though.

It gets better later on, but it never gets good. Shino best girl.

Episode 6 definitely was pretty terrible and not the kind of stuff I'd have wanted to be in a Blue Reflection anime, but I'll stick with it to see where it goes

Too much child abuse in Blue Reflection Ray really sours me on it. Episode 22 in particular was far too messed up for me. Without that and a better budget it would have been fine probably. The animation almost reached Marchen Madchen tier at times.

Holy shit, Vinland Saga S2 has been wonderful. I know so many people won't get it, or it won't be what they were looking for, but it is stunning and beautiful.

In YU-NO: A Girl Who Chants Love at the Bound of This World, the Divine Emperor was such a poorly written and unsympathetic antagonist that it actually brought my total rating for the show down 2 or 3 points

even worse given that the reveal was she was the protagonist's stepmom

there were so many great ideas in that story, and it set the standards for the VN medium for years to come, but man did they drop the ball on that ending

No.

I hate anime's propensity to try and redeem every villain on principle as one of the dumbest tropes that keeps showing up in Japanese media. Unless it is done extremely well I hate it by default, and only like it if I am extremely on board with their narrative weight on the situation.

In terms of bad attempts to redeem a character, fucking Isabelle in Promised Neverland. Promised Neverland is in the spoilers there.

Granted this was all part of S2 which is literally the biggest drop from a season to season in overall quality ever.

Get 10 billion percent excited

The new Black Clover movie was hype as fuck. Tons of action, great animation, a solid story, and damn it was so nice to hear Asta's voice again. Despite the movie being tied to and licensed by Netflix, they brought back the entire Funimation dub cast, and two of the new villains in the movie were voiced by Ben Diskin (young Joseph in JoJo part 2) and Steve Blum (Spike in Cowboy Bebop) too, which was a treat.

I'm pretty sure this is a non-canon story, since trying to figure out where/when it would fit in the anime's canon is giving me a headache. But it was a great experience, and it made me even more excited for when the anime itself finally does come back, whenever that may be.

Oh it's dubbed? Nice, I'll need to check it out when I get the time.

Yep, indeed it is. One bright side of Netflix licensing anime is that when they do batch releases (like with Stone Ocean or Aggretsuko) or movie releases (like with this movie), they pretty much always have the English dub ready to drop alongside the subbed version. Plus, I would never watch Black Clover subbed again with how nails-on-a-chalkboard awful Asta's Japanese voice was when I first heard it. 100% a dub-only show for me.

Was hyped after the first episode of KamiKatsu, severely disappointed from the next 3 episodes to the point of almost dropping it, and after watching the rest so far back to mid hype. It's behind Witch from Mercury, Demon Slayer, Heavenly Delusion (next week's episode or the one after that is gonna be yikes), Hell's Paradise, and right above Dead Mount Death Play for me out of the shows I've watched this season

Slightly related, weeb corner development paused for now. I think I got all of the art books I wanted on my radar or weren't stupid expensive in the used market. Other than one drawing reference for the teddies, the rest are ecchi at worst. Next one will probably be "Artists in the Americas". Rest of the collection not pictured are drawing references for robots, buildings, anime characters, and game artbooks including Xenoblade Chronicles 1-3, Monster Hunter, and Fire Emblem

I thought about picking it up when I heard it was getting a rare same-day simuldub (with Ian Sinclair as the male lead too) but I never did because I'm already watching plenty of shows this season. I might go back to it later at some point.

To me, I eventually expected people were gonna get really high up on Boku no Kokoro no Yabai Yatsu after a mild reception in the beginning, as the premise itself is mostly a smokescreen to the actual story. It's about middle schoolers in their puberty phase, so the whole thing was just the characters not really understanding their natural attractions and confusing them for other similar directional needs.

Anyways, I watched it like slowly creep up on the scores and reception throughout the season and finally they dethroned stuff like Raelinna and that other dude that nobody fucking explained why that pairing is so good. Seriously though, did anybody actually watch this? Who's voting for them and why? Should I watch it? Cuz the actual anime has like sometimes fallen off the top 20 list for just this season alone, and somehow they've managed to stay up in the best girl/pairing chart for the whole season

Alright I did my research, and it's actually a Korean manhwa that was adapted to a webtoon and now an anime. It's geared towards females, basically a shoujo genre, mostly romance with some politics mixed in there. Uhh... yeah I'm not sure. I'm gonna have to guess it's a weird case of a niche audience outweighing a heavily divided majority

Speaking of movies, just watched the slime movie. It was okay. Nothing special, just okay. But thats okay, cause I'm watching for more of best gir-.... best bo-... best.... yes, best yes, Rimiru.

Unfortunately, Netflix seems to never do weekly dubs like Crunchyroll or HiDive do. The rare times they license an anime and actually give it a subbed simulcast like they did with Vinland Saga, they still wait to drop the dub in batches of 12-13 episodes.

Yep, the story seems to be heating up and I go to the next episode, Japanese only. Not that I mind but for consistencys sake Im not watching something half dub half sub.

I just hope its not months before the next batch. Apparently the first 12 came in March so maybe its about time pretty soon.

I think that's the end of BokuYaba s1? Weird place to end it, but I feel like that's probably why they announced s2 right before ep 12 aired. Anyways, if not for Gundam Suisei no Majo, it would've been the anime of this season. But the problem is that it wasn't the most well done adaptation because it flubs the most important scene when Ichikawa grabs Yamada's hands. Also Yamada's death glare should've been more akin to looking at a bug. She's got that subtle yandere vibes beneath her happy-go-lucky glutton thing. In general it kinda feels like they were afraid to make Yamada look too intimidating, even though she shoots death glares at least 5 times throughout the series

... I don't hate it. I feel the actors have decent chemistry and know their characters. I feel the guy doing Luffy has that childlike energy he has, and it is better than I had envisioned.
