She came up with some of the most nonsensical excuses. The DoJ wants her to serve a 6.5 year prison sentence. The judge, Trevor McFadden, is a Trump appointee who has typically given very light sentences compared to what the DoJ has been requesting. The way courts are set up in this country is grossly outdated. No other modern democracy operates like this. She was arrested in May of 2021, but IIRC, she was allowed to stay out of jail initially.
