God we're just one bad election away from Republicans completely destroying this country

There are two districts in Maine. One is very small in size, but comprises of the biggest cities in Maine. The other is very large (Golden's district), but is mostly potato fields and pine trees.

Maine politicians with statewide/national ambitions (See: Susan Collins) have always tried to play this game and appeal to the city voters where they say they are, "moderate," a maverick willing to vote their conscience, not party lines. Maine voters take alot of pride in this for some reason.

But if you look at their voting records they vote with Dems only when Republicans will win the vote anyways. Anytime it's an actual contest, though, they vote with the Republicans. Always. Susan Collins claims to be a moderate, but if you look at her record she's in the 99% percentile for conservative voting. Jared Golden is just the latest version of this trend. He's totally a Democrat you guys! But when it counts, you bet your ass the Speaker can count on him.

This sucks man, imagine if not only Biden wins re-election but also has full control of the house and senate and can't make good on anything because an abundence of Republicans pretending to be Democrats managed to win and pull a Santos/Sinema. Thanks to people like that it's already been shown there are no real consequences for doing that in particular other than losing to primary opponent and by then they've gotten their corporate money for being good soldiers and they can run third party which will only hurt the Democratic side like Sinema is doing and Munchin may even consider running for President just to simpon votes away from Biden in hopes of assisting his Republican donors
