all i know of her is that she's a pure cinnamon roll

I feel like you got it backwards, sure both of them get hate from racists, but the hatred for Kamala always seemed more intense to me (probably because she was created by a woman)

Is Miles polarizing? At the beginning sure because people were upset they killed off and replaced Peter but I think most people like Miles nowadays.

I don't think kamala was ever that polarizing, and Miles was always near universally loved. I never really saw his appeal but whatever.

Not by a certain sect of people.

He was probably more hated for being an spinoff of the most popular marvel character and being black.

Kamala was more niche, so probably had less hate.

Both characters got a ton of vocal hate while also having a decent sized fanbase from the jump.

Just other be clear, Miles never replaced the main original Peter Parker. Miles was born in the Ultimate Universe. He became Spider-Man after Ultimate Peter Parker died.

But now he lives in 616. Even when Ultimate Peter died, 616 Peter was still alive and well. I remember when that story happened, and the mainstream news was talking about it. Lots of non comic readers thought the "real" Spider-Man had died

That universes version of marvels most popular character, not the mainline version from 616.

Which is likely why he was more warmly accepted by fans. Aside from the hype of him being black.

But tbf his introduction was handled alot better then most others. Riri being a example of how not to do so.

Miles was definitely hated by the majority of fans when he was first introduced. For various reasons for sure, but his race being a pretty big one.

Even today there's a pretty big portion of Spiderman fans that don't consider him to be "Spider-Man" even though him being Spider-Man is like the entire point of the Spider-Man character as a whole.

It's closer to opposite. Though not really. Kamala isn't really hated either.
