First time finally binging the entire series.

Years ago I used to be so shocked they ended at season 12 when it was so popular and thought they could go on for years and years!

But I'm making my way through season 10 and I'm ready for it to be over. I was ready for it to be over way back in season 9. I think around season 8 is when it peaked, well 7 really. I was really enjoying it then especially how ingrained the girls became onto the show, best decision ever to have Bernadette and Amy instead of having all the guys drool over penny like season 1 and 2 did.

I've never intentionally watched a single episode of Bing Bang Theory.

Penny is actually sheldon from another multiverse

Bernadette has like the best build in any women in history.

Raj? Boy the way the writers handle Raj, I dont know if it borders on racism but its something. His relationships with women are always the worst. And I was really liking the redhead he was with, Emily. Thought she could add something to the girl group especially her animosity with Penny as the two alpha "hot" girls

I watched it for a season or 2. It's actually not bad.

They've been doing this thing for a while where they pair him up with sad sack comic book store owner guy Stewart.

What's particularly hilarious is that in this character's introduction he was literally all confident and witty and able to get a date with Penny from first encounter in front of Leonard making Leonard jealous and all.

Since then they've done everything humanly possibly to make him the saddest sack. In business, in personal life, he can't even talk to a girl without staring at her blankly like an alien. Its really weird. Not quite Flanderization, I dont even know if there's a word for what they did with him.

Yeah only time I watched an episode someone else picked what was on the TV. Show seemed alright, never was really into the sitcom style show though.

I mean if that opinion makes me a cool bad boy, then so be it. However I must say I don't really feel all that cool bad boy though. I'll take your word for it.

It probably helps to mention that last part, otherwise it does kind of feel like going onto the pokemon board and going "Guys, I haven't played Pokemon and I really don't plan to, it's not quite my kind of game". Which is fine, sure, but did you need to go there to tell them that if that's all you planned to say? I hate to have to not agree with you on this one since you're usually the one telling people why they did a thing they're denying doing.. true this wasn't as bad as the "hey guys im on your board making a topic to say I hate your game" thing since it's just entering a topic to say you haven't seen it much..almost not worth mentioning if it hadn't already come up.. but it's still sort of in the same ballpark...

Nah, I'm just simply replying to posts made to me. I probably wouldn't have touched this thread again otherwise. =P

I think the show is great, even more so for how much it seems to rile up the terminally online.

Then again they have done these semi retcons or soft reboots of character personalities, like how they had amy start out as a female Sheldon who is just as socially clueless and dislikes sex even more than he did, until the writers figured out what they wanted to do with her and had her be a sex-crazed (in comparison to Sheldon) girlfriend who fangirls over penny every chance she gets. Compared to how she started out insulting penny and everyone else.

I think the show is great, even more so for how much it seems to rile up the terminally online.

It is definitely hilarious and used to be the initial main factor for watching, those terminally online types who have never felt the presence of grass used to (and still do) unironically say phrases like: "nerd blackface" without even a hint of selfawareness, and it was really hilarious. I skimmed some old topics from like 9 years ago and they're still saying it to this day.

lmao I legit know a guy irl who's said this to me about BBT too.

I liked this show as a kid and I think it is overhated.

You know what it is, and this describes this later season perfectly, is that the characters are starting to regress to make way for some kinda story to fill 20 minutes.

They already very nearly completed all of the characters arcs: Howard and Bernadette are married with kid, Sheldon and Amy not only are together but even have a physical intimate relationship, Leonard and Penny got married, hell penny even has a job as a pharmaceutical saleswoman and it definitely pays more than an out-of-work actress occasionally waiting tables at cheesecake factory. So there's no more room to grow they all peaked.

Huh you know what. Some development just happened, they brought back Riki Lindhome from way back in like season 2 if not 1! That's pretty cool I like Garfunkel and oates but they never have them at the same time.

Reminds me of the time they had Alex (girl from even stevens if anyone else grew up with that show) brought in to swoon over Leonard who was oblivious. They really like doing the whole "really cute/hot girl is into this nerdy oblivious character" and boy am I here for it. I am so here for it

show went downhill after amy and bernadette were introduced.

Hate was overblown.

I remember it ended on a good note, which is obviously way more that can be said for Game of Thrones, which also ended around the same time.

Some people do get a random spark where they shine brighter than normal. It's like a the stars aligning kinda thing. Perfect combo of the right mood and circumstances

It's funny how his lactose intolerance pretty much the focal point of her character

I watched a couple early seasons about ten years ago, it was kinda funny. Occasionally they'd sneak in a 'too true' bit, like how the comic book shop owner landed a date with Penny but would rather stay up all night arguing with Sheldon over who was the better Joker than actually sleep with her. Didn't really have enough staying power to keep me personally hooked, though.

Season 10 finale gave just enough of a shakeup that season 11 is mildly entertaining again

It was hinted that he still have feelings for his sister hence the only girl he could talk aside from his mom.

Same. I hear that it's good and wildly popular but every time i walk in and it's playing it is really unfunny. I must just have bad luck with what parts I happen to stumble upon.

You will be amazed that it's actually a thing. Not women just people in general. I was like that till I was a adult. I got ridiculed for it as a kid. If I didnt know you I wouldn't talk to you. Now if you were with someone I knew and trusted there wasnt a problem. Running a store helped me overcome it. I was in my late 30's before I started dating. I'm not some gross person, just really socially awkward. I mean I still do the not talking unless I know you well thing

Much better no laugh track

i got into it like season 4/5 i think. then kept up on new episodes/seasons and would watch them. other than watching some parts of random eps on tv after it ended i have no real interest in rewatching it. show was fine but definitely early to mid was the better parts. last few seasons were a drag. doesn't really have any appeal to me to rewatch. don't think i'd enjoy it all that much and think it would just feel like a chore trying to watch it all.

The show is recorded with a live audience and the dialog is written with pauses to accommodate for the crowds laughter. The jokes here aren't really big laughs, just banter that is out of context for the unfamiliar. For instance, it's a running gag for Raj to not know things about America and for his friends to advantage of this. Example of this is when Howard told Raj that foreigners give presents to Americans on Thanksgiving. People know this, but still post no laugh track cuts cuz reasons.
