I could go on forever, but no: food often comes from boiling water, ovens, flames, etc. It is hot. As long as the entity distributing the food takes reasonable and effective precautions (i.e. placing it in a reliable container) the consumer (or consumer's parents) are reasonable for eating it non-stupidly.

I read into it and this is very similar to the Coffee case. It wasnt just enough that the food was hot, the food was 200 degrees or nearly hot enough to boil water. Far above the recommended 160 degrees. So the burns are very damaging.


if it were really hot enough to boil water, how did she not notice when she touched it?

It's on the restaurant but i gotta disagree. You're taking all accountability away from the parent here. I have a toddler and I always check the food before giving it to them for various reasons. No reason you should just be giving food to a very young child without checking it first. There are many many times I've had to be like "don't touch that baby, it's hot"
