Yeah haha. Game has great production value, but I really burn out when there isn't too much of a carrot on a stick (in my case, story progression). Yeah there's always getting more gears and levels and traces but doing all that day to day just felt...empty lol. Didn't really have an interest in the MoC and whatnot either.

I think its because her whole spider motif or whatever.

I love her character and will try to get her on a rerun, but SW has potential to be the most enduring 1.x character in the game.

I finally hit TL60 the other day so I can finally play the game now right? But now I'm just focusing on getting one character at a time to close to maxed out. Credits and exp books gonna gate me at some point soon.

I'm starting to lose interest in HSR myself. Between the performance issues on my phone, the lack of interesting story content, and the amount of time spent grinding (both for dailies and to enhance characters) without any sort of skip function, it just doesn't feel like it's giving me enough enjoyment to be worth the time investment. There are three other upcoming gacha games that I'm interested in trying out, and maybe if all three of those end up sucking, I might keep HSR around for the long haul. But if even one of those feels more enjoyable (or close to as enjoyable but more convenient to play) then I'm probably uninstalling this.

Honestly same.

Not sure I have it in me to stick to Kafka and even then... the grind just makes it meh. Will keep at it for now though.

The game itself is fun, but just too much grinding and not enough story.

Pela's voice makes her sound like a catgirl as it has a slight nya nasally sound, but she isn't a catgirl at all :(

Yeah, why is there no skip? What really annoyed me was in the Museum Tycoon event start, where you had to follow Pela and she walked slow as fuck <_<

Maybe I was spoiled by Princess Connect (RIP), where you could skip any stages that you've already cleared without losing any characters before and you could complete all of the daily missions in like 10 minutes as a result, but HSR just feels so slow and boring in comparison without a similar function. It feels less like a daily check-in and more like a chore, and there's not enough enjoyment to justify it either.

Even just like...let us skip cutscenes. I know they want us to experience and appreciate their work with the story but...give us the option at least lol

Yeah I meant cutscene skipping. IMO thats a feature that no game should be without, in addition to collect all (*glares at Arknights in the past*), and yeah, stage skipping (*glares at Epic Seven even to this day*)

I have a lot of misgivings but I already talked about too many of them. Here's one that I haven't talked about, the late-end game content RPG wise are like really really bad. I think the most entertaining one is SU, but SU kinda becomes too easy once you realize Preservation is an auto-win and like 4 of the paths require too much luck and specific characters to thrive, in a game where you need like 75~90 pulls for even a chance at a new character.

Forget SU, that content is still fine even though those 4 paths need some serious restructuring. The biggest problem is the Chaos whatever bs, the one that resets every 2 weeks

Holy crap, like don't get me wrong, at lvl 70 cap I was still able to go through 4 of the stages. But it's just... a DPS check? Like what else would it be if it weren't a DPS check? There's no reacting to what the bosses do, and it's only really playable if you managed to build up 8 whole characters. Oh, the bosses don't happen to have the right weaknesses for the 8 characters you managed to build? I guess I'll wait 2 more weeks. The biweekly conditional buff doesn't suit your units? I guess I'll wait 2 more weeks. These are just really badly designed content. The worst thing a turn based RPG can do is become a DPS check, because a turn based strategy gives you infinite time to come up with your moves. In Genshin, maybe this is acceptable for people because it's mostly an action game where you have to come up with DPS on the fly and relies a lot on the execution of it.

I think this is a pretty big contributor to people who actually took the time to get here and just feeling bored. SU is only really fun because the perks you get are randomized, which by themselves let you actually adapt to situations

The museum event was quaint but I think it gets repetitive after a while. The Hook/Clara interview was a highlight, and then like nothing that tops it happens after. There's no real pressure to actually optimize either.

It's just like just keep playing and you eventually win. Basically emblematic of the entire game. Just keep playing, and you'll get 20 gems or something like that, in a game that has like .6~1.6% rates. Not gonna delude myself into thinking refreshing for stam is actual fun gameplay.

I keep seeing ads for this that are fucking weird.
It's always this fat ugly weeb, and I guess that he's dead, but his dying dream is being surrounded by cute anime girls, but he's still a fat ugly weeb in his dream.

It doesn't help that, for me, the banners range from not interested to no way in hell do I want to pull for that character. Seele was ok, but I wanted to save for characters that I want/need. Same with Jing Yuan. Silver Wolf I had to put some thought into. Her design repels me, but I'm afraid her gimmick will make her close to required. Then again that would require I use her, so I decided to go with my "no way in hell". I really don't want Luocha, but I need another healer so I'm probably going to have to pull for him since Stellar warp hasn't given me any characters at all let alone Bailu. Don't know enough about Blade and Luka yet to make a decision, but I'm guess I'm not really interested in getting them. Fu Xuan and Kafka are filed under "no way in hell".

What characters you are interested in is kind of a personal taste thing though. For a lot of us, both Silver Wolf and Kafka are must pulls.

I expected the game to be threadbare for a while after the launch content was burned through.

It's a shame 1.1 didn't have story content, but Im hoping with the removal of the abundance cult from main quest status that they'll have a more focused narrative path in 1.2.

I am still really enjoying it, just know I don't need to marathon it like I did when I started Genshin in like 3.3. steady consistent play will get me where I want.

I've been using the time between my tasks between HSR and GI to play other games I've been neglecting for too long.

I kinda regret pulling for Jing Yuan, even if it only took me before first pity.

Also, anyone wanna take up the mantle to start the next topic or y'all just gonna stick to the Gacha general?

I kinda went into this on the Star Rail board. The problem is that the stamina is too limited, and that all the nodes run off of the same type.

The Calyxs need their own stamina type, separate from the Echoes of War/Stagnant Shadows/Cavern of Corruption. Having to split your runs between relic farming and trace material farming is stupid, and having them run on the same stam system is even more so. Then on top of that youre limited to 180 max points and some runs are 40 points each, and you can very well walk away with nothing to show for it.

having to build 8 units for MoC rewards is brutal at this point especially if your f2p. They need to increase the stamina limit, or reduce the amount needed for each run, or increase drop rewards.

It's a really dated stam system. The main purpose is to artificially inflate playtime to buy themselves more time for events

But like I said. What they really should've done is to make updates way less weighty. There's not nearly as much technical wizardry to implement content required for a turn based RPG. It's why a lot of turn based RPGs are actually long as hell.

Museum event was really quaint but I can see that this resulted in like a month of shitty side content. Silver Wolf event was a bit weighty as well, though it felt like par for the course in terms of a side story event in a gacha game. More effort is clearly in here, but they do also earn like 30-40 times the usual gachas. I just don't think it's actually worth 30-40 times more than a flimsy VN format that's just as well written and consumable.

They're too cute with it and too ambitious in weird places. Scale down and pump out interesting battles or scaling content. Make SU the primary end game content where victory isn't so fucking easy. Chaos should be more puzzle type battles, SU should be the actually difficult content that can only really be beaten with luck or high lvl equipments

Anyways, I've been gone from the game after a day of the museum to the end and relieved from it. I enjoyed a lot of parts and didn't enjoy a lot of parts but I think anybody's time is better spent playing an SMT or Etrian Odyssey game that people haven't played yet. Plenty of it out there (just don't buy the recently released remasters. They're scams)

I do like how they seem to be handling the events here. Unlike Genshin, it seems you can do them whenever and still keep u with the story, you just won't have access to the limited rewards.

Also, Natasha and Jing are online. Imma work on getting Clara up and I should have a functional second team for memory of chaos.

I feel the exact opposite. Not enough grinding due to lack of stamina. It takes less than 5 minutes before you run out and then you either wait for refill or use fuel/jades. Plus you can autorun the stages so its not like it takes any effort.

having a separate system for Calyxes wouldnt even significantly increase the grind time, but make it a little more efficient.

I'm not a fan of the weekly grind. I've never liked the feeling that I "had" to get all the points for SU so I could get all the rewards :<

Lol thats the easiest grind. You pick Abundance Path and auto run the whole thing

Im not a fan of having to wait out the battles though. Its like with labyrinth modes in other games; I need something more than just choosing a buff in between battles :<
