In team battles it's easy to tell which direction the wind's blowing, like if you have missing or crap teammates. It's more annoying when you're getting destroyed the whole game and the team refuses to forfeit. Just a waste of time.

That's deafeatist mentality, there's almost always a chance to comeback, too many people start to lose and give up when there's room to comeback, never stop fighting for victory.

Isn't it more fun when your opponent hangs on to that 5% chance that they win so that you get to play the game longer?

I think you're underestimating what I mean when I say destroyed.

Part of the reason I stopped playing lol was because it always "felt" like my team wouldn't surrender. Enemy teams if I was having a good game? 15 minute surrender. Bad game where my team is feeding non-stop? It's 30+ minutes of pain with every surrender vote being rejected and the enemy team milking it for all it's worth and refusing to push the game to an end.

Games have match making systems which are supposed to make it roughly even, but rarely do I feel like games are "close" when I play competitive games they're almost always one sided regardless of the games genre. If I'm getting stomped I hate being stuck in something not fun it will make me quit playing the game all together, and even when I'm stomping it gets boring pretty quick and it's usually better to just roll to another game.

Oh I see so thats why I see people quit after point with the whole match left? Whats the point in playing at all when you are down when you can start a new match? I also blame fortnite for helping with this behavior.

I played the beta for Fortnite back when it was an actual game... but I never played the battle royale it eventually became. I was under the impression in that game you just played until you died and that determined your position in the match rankings. Is there some sort of leaving feature I'm unaware of? I fail to immediately understand the relevance of fortnite to the topic other wise.

The problem is that making that comeback often requires the entire team to start playing significantly better than they have up to that point. It's still possible, and it's awesome if you can pull it off, but especially if you're playing with randoms or otherwise don't know what potential your teammates have to put in the necessary skill to turn things around, it can be a significant gamble and not necessarily a fun time.

well in the battle royale like all the others you play till you die and can easily move on to the next match versus other games with time limits where if you are losing you either wait till the point limit is made or time has ran out. But in Battle royal games the moment you lose is when you can start a new game

Lots of times people wanna quit not even a minute into game time because they dont wanna play when they are down. Might as well start a new match and hope your team scores first

Depends on the game and the reason for being down. If you are missing a person or have someone actively running in and dying repeatedly to troll, then ya, don't waste the time trying to salvage it. Personally I will keep playing, but I don't have a problem dumping a lost cause either.

This is true Ive had some crazy comebacks The problem is people quitting to easily It was also a big problem in the first Splatoon Sometimes, even a minor slip up on their part is all thats needed, or a good play. Like when we were losing a match and Splatoon, but splatted their whole team in one go and came back. Or just got some good timed specials close to the end It also depends on the game, though

Yeah. I think you should only be able to join a new match once your old one ended... I think thats what the first Overwatch did. I was playing and my team was doing really well, and then my pets unplugged (it might have been something else, but I was out of the game and not happy because we were winning) the system I hurried and plugged it back in, and got it back on. Once I was back in the game, it had rejoin match there. So I rejoined the same match. We were still winning, which was good, so I was able to finish

Lately I've been getting nothing but scrubs who talk shit and give up at halftime when we're down by one point. Really sucks because I've been trying to build up my rank.

That was also the reason I didn't win a Rocket League tournament last night; it was almost a lock, but the other team got a couple of points and my teammate blew a fuse and threw the game.

Forfeits are fine in 1v1 games or in a group setting, but it's a feature that has no place in anonymous team games. Part of why I quit playing league of legends was because the losing team tended to give up as soon as the option become available, so comebacks and wild swings virtually never happened.

Yeah that's where my opinion come from except I play Smite, people always think the game is decided at around 10 minute mark(when you can forfeit) and if a team has more than a slight lead people want to quit, nevermind at endgame respawn timers are 90 seconds and that's easily long enough to end a match in that time so comebacks are quite common at that point.

It's only when the enemy team has a truly massive lead like 5+ levels and thousands of gold above the rest of the team do I accept a surrender.
