I had chemotherapy in my early 20s and noticed some problems with memory and speech, mentioned it to my doctor and they just kinda shrugged their shoulders. Since then it hasn't gotten any worse or maybe I've just gotten more mindful about it.

Its also not a sharp decline, but something very slow and gradually. Greatly depends on diet, exercise, genetics. If you have poorer blood circulation going into your brain because plaque in carotid arteries and the sort then youll be much more likely to develop dementia, alzheimers and other cognitive decline.

ive noticed more typos in my typing
and when i type a lot in my head everything i wanted to type makes sense but then later when i reread it after its already been posted there are whole sentences that dont make sense because my brain had a stray thought and i typed bits and piece of that down without realizing it so sometimes whole words are different than what i intended to type which can be very confusing to anyone who is trying to read what i said

I haven't noticed anything...yet. But I'm not entirely sure what they mean by decline. As in reaction time, or memory, or what? All I know is I can still recite the names of the first 150 Pokemon.

I feel like my short-term memory is definitely a lot worse than it was in my 20s.

But the last couple of years have been filled with traumatic experiences and loads of stress so could just be due to the related depression

it's for the next upcoming month. buying it not saves about 2$ on sauce, 80 cents on bread and about 2$ on milk.

I was ready to agree with that statement since I'm now in my 30s and I've noticed I'm not as quick thinking as I once was but then your post had a read time of 3 minutes and I cleared that in a fraction of the time so maybe I do still got it!

I turn 42 soon. I'm not sure if I can say I've noticed mental decline. I guess maybe the only thing I can think of is that sometimes I'll be in a conversation, and I suddenly forget the point I was about to try to make. Like I might start talking about something and then I forget where I was going with it

Ive definitely noticed a decline, but its also coincided with becoming a parent and work getting more stressful.

It was a joke at the expense of the 'your brain doesn't fully develop until age 25' Twitter crowd. If your cognitive functions start declining at 30, then by their logic you should only be able to date between ages 25-30.

i credit millennials for being smart into their 30s. people in the past was dumb. after college they slid into a 40 year period of never reading a book or thinking a thought.

I feel you dude. I already ADD and since chemo a few years back I just feel like my brain is mostly mush. Like I'll think "I need to look this up" and by the time I get my ohone out I've forgotten what it was I was going to look up. I fucking hate it

I never had chemo and this keep happening to me

For me it was things that I felt weren't a problem before, particularly words. I found myself searching for words in everyday type conversations that would completely derail my thought process and speech. It's was frustrating and hurt my confidence quite a bit.

I've gotten better about it but still struggle with it at times. It seems sometimes I can be spot on with my ability to articulate and others I just can't get it out even though I know it's there.

This is bull shit.

People forget that the brain is a muscle like anything else.

They tend to not exercise as they get older and set in their routine and lifestyles.

Only for people that "stop" learning or caring to read probably.
No way someone that is 30-40 and continues the pursuit of knowledge and development has their brain decline.

Its more of the normal average person getting lazy and not having their brain being used for more unique thoughts daily and not caring to learn things.

That explains why I keep forgetting things and why I'm having increasing moments where it feels like my brain is just completely empty and start getting confused.

I have noticed that for some reason I switch up the first letter of some words when I talk.

Like "cading trards" or some weird shit I don't even mean to do
