That's just sleep apnea tbh

every time i'm about to fall asleep for the first time each night, I experience the feeling of falling rapidly for a split second, so sleeping always takes extra time for me because my heart is racing. fun! never happens twice in one night though

You should see a doctor if possible.

if it's anything like what I went through, it's probably sleep apnea. When I didn't know what it was, I thought it could have been panic attacks, too.

Yes I've had panic attacks in my sleep. It's not fun. First time it happened I went to the hospital because I didn't know what was going on. Turns out I was having a bad allergic reaction to prednisone.

While I won't reject the idea of sleep apnea, this was definitely a standard panic attack for me

That happens to be occasionally, it scares me for a split-second but then it's ok

ya, that happens to me all the time, especially in the legs.

imagine adding sleep paralyze to that as well ( the creepy kind)
