Oh I just realized that link is swinging around a rock that prob weighs over 1000 pounds like nothing wtf

Also that branch is super strong but i guess fuse makes it possible

It reduces the rock in size when it gets fused and probably alters the density a little since it's unlikely a rock like that would shatter into dust after killing a few enemies with it.

Ultrahand seems capable of picking up just about any physicked object by the way. What looked like a Gyro puzzle in the previous trailer is actually Ultrahand. Looks like we got Magnesis on Steroids. I wonder if the infinite mass Magnesis glitch will still exist in the game.

Yeah. They showed a stick breaking in 4 (same as botw), and then fused another stick to a Boulder and it lasted longer than 6 strikes, with no indication of breaking.

For a stick that's pretty absurd.

They did that by the way after the stick had already gotten to one hit away from breaking

Yeah, it seems like even if we might not be able to repair (although it'sstill very possible), we can just create a new weapon entirely. I wonder if there's a limit for the number of fusion we can do to one weapon/ amount of overall fused material

Hopefully if there is we can upgrade it. I wanna be making the most crazy shit with this. Gonna be interesting with how taking weapons from enemies' heads and all the ways we can fuse them with shit is gonna be

Man I'm so hyped

I was under the impression that the fused weapon breaks as a whole. I don't know if you can fuse a fuse or if you can fuse a normal weapon to a superhand gizmo. Will just need to experiment when we get the game.

Probably, but the UI element for fusing an item doesn't disappear. During the segment where they fuse a log to the sword and a Boulder tk the shield you can see that "Log Sword" is listed as a Fusion option.

Maybe we can infinitely fuse and replace parts to extend Durability, though that seems unrealistic imo.

Dude don't worry.

They have literally shown 3 or 4 things

If you look close, ascend, rewind, fuse, and ultra hand are all L abilities. And we haven't even began to touch on these. We've only seen surface level stuff so far at that. Every unique item will all fuse in unique ways to all the other hundreds of unique items and weapons. Arrow fusions alone have dozens, if not hundreds of options.

It's all gonna be insanely massive and it might even be better than a normal crafting system

Also In botw link had like 8 runes so no way these are the only new runes/L abilities. There is so much more that this video hardly scratches the surface. This game will easily have hundreds of times the depth of botw and is looking so damn good

For sure. Trailers aren't the place for talking about limits, but I can't imagine it's an infinite system. Like, vehicle crafting probably has a hard limit for glue stuff or else it just doesn't make sense.

Fans pointed downward notable massively reduced their battery level. Gonna guess there's some limit between thrust, mass, and objects attached.

Also looks like we might be building houses too. I've said elsewhere that the theme of the game will be rebuilding. That kind of proves it.

I apologize

I'm just so hyped about talking about this game now. All the possibilities are amazing a so very, very vast. It looks like we can fuse just about anything to arrows. What would a meat arrow do? Are we gonna be able to fuse leaves for some sort of wind arrow, or similar stuff for high velocity arrows?

What about In late game when we stop using chuchu jelly and add in a ruby for a high tier fire arrow or something? I really think this is gonna be a thing, and with so, SO many different types of arrows to come out of it too! Ruby is just what I thought of when I saw he could have fused In amber instead.

The possibilities are really limitless this time around

I bet we'll be able to drop things like the zonai charges we just saw in this, and all sorts of enemy pick ups, the weapons on top of enemy heads after defeating them, and so on to create amazing stuff. Even coming things like hinox toothy and toenails to sticks or swords is gonna be wild. I wonder if we can only fuse up weapons, or also make tools of some sort. Bow fusing might seem weird at first but I believe in ir

I honestly think zonai charges will refill battery on anything that uses it. Maybe even extend it. Like we can use them to refill flamethrower shields and vehicles battery I'm sure but also make some kickass stuff with them!

Well now you've just played your hand. Anyways, it does seem that the new Horns are meant to give us new ways of fusing weapons. I wonder what underlying principles are at work. Like, every Shield in the game had hidden friction variables that made them better or worse for shield surfing. I carried an Ancient Shield around exclusively for use as a surf board because its low friction and high durability made it ideal for that task. What does adding a Boulder do to a shield. Does it ruin it as a surf tool? Are there items you can attach to a shield do cool things? What about a deku leaf + shield? What about that fucking flamethrower? Can shields be fused with shields?

So many wild possibilities abd I bet almost every one has been made possible.

I agree that this stuff is definitely meant to give us all ways imaginable to fuse all sorts of weapons. I honestly hope that week get a ton of different bases to attach everything from rocks, to enemy weapons, to even those monter drops that "tipped my hand" haha. Maybe there will even be new enemy drops just for this system. I also wonder if we'll be able to fine tune fused weapons in the future out of it to get the most from it! :D

I assume the there will be a way to make shield that are anywhere from not good for surfing at all to maybe way faster but not durable, to more, to all sorts of things of different combinations with all sorts of effects (Maybe even having the ability to reinforce shields by fusing them to eachother)

I'm pretty sure between the mushroom shield fusion they showed, to the flamethrower shield in the trailers show that we can equip weapons, normal items, everything. Maybe we can even equip magnetic things for the shield surfing that happened on those metal rails that happen in the trailer. Maybe even fusing a korok leaf will give you a shield sail, metal will increase durability, and something smooth for speed.

The possibilities are completely endless here for everything and this is gonna be the most amazing zelda game.

Picking through the trailer with a more fine-toothed comb.

Shield and Sword UI Elements return and are in the same positions. Despite link only ever using the one shield during the entire trailer (all the trailers, actually) we can be reasonably confident that the player will have access to multiple shields. The icons feel larger and cleaner, and the environment details in the bottom right seems to have better contrast.

The Rune icon has been swapped out for an Apple icon. There are a few possibilities I see here, but the most obvious is to be able to sort through basic inventory like ingredients and toss them around. Tossing monster parts on the floor to fuse into new weapons. Grabbing hold of a bunch of items to cook with. Given the mechanics on display this seems like a useful feature.

Runes are now on their own button. I assume we switch between them using L. I'll go through them in greater detail later. The location around Dueling Peaks is drastically different without all the Guardian corpses lying around. Many have already speculated that Guardians are gone, but the devs wouldn't simply remove them with nothing taking their places. For now I won't speculate too much on what that could be.

When drawing the bow the Arrow icon doesn't appear. I'm guessing elemental / bomb arrows are gone, Fuse with Chu Jelly to recreate their effects. I'm guessing the elemental versions of Keese eyes will do the homing thing while retaining the elemental damage property. (ie: Use a Fire Keese's eye to do homing Fire Arrows) Fusing with whatever the equivalent of Giant Ancient Core probably produces the Ancient Arrow effect. We have yet to see bombs appear, it's possibly they might not exist in traditional form. We also see some items have changed quite a lot. Amber is now a jagged point, presumably for use in Fusing. One wonders how powerful or how durable a Diamond weapon would be.

There's a moment where Link uses the Ultrahand and several massive fan-like structures in the background get an outline. We've seen Link contolling pieces of sky island before, it seems Ultrahand will be one of the main ways of doing that. Ultrahand may even replace gyro puzzles since we've seen it doing exactly that in the previous trailer, but it's too soon to tell if they're all going away.

There's tons of new structures everywhere. Mostly fallen pieces of sky island. Near the Lanayru Promenade on top of the mountain you can see some sort of small, colloseum like structure. There's sky island blocks littered everywhere, and a green spiral thing on top of the cliff near the stable. This further cements that these are almost certainly Zonai Shrines. They seem significantly fewer in number than BotW, it's possible that they're simply spaced out more (gotta make room for sky shrines and underground shrines) There's tons of changes to the base map visible from the skydiving segment but I don't have time to go through them all.

Now to wait on YTers like Zeltik and PointCrow to make analysis videos so I can fuel my hype more.

I mean more so as a continuation from breath of the wild (which I expected)

everything about this to me is embracing even more trappings of every open world game and moving farther away from what I enjoy about the Zelda series pre-BOTW

i maintain they could change extremely little about these games, call them a totally new IP, and no one ever would have known this was supposed to be a game in the LoZ series

It looks great so far. Item fusing seems pretty fun. As I've said since the beginning, if you liked Breath of the Wild and want more of it, then you'll probably enjoy this game. If you didn't like BOTW, then you're probably not going to like this one either.

I don't necessarily think every future Zelda game should follow these two games. But if that is the direction they go in, they should work on multiple Zelda games at the same time. They really should make another non-remake 2D game that will appeal to those that want more traditional Zelda.

My take is that even the devs were surprised by how much the fanbase enjoyed exploiting the physics engine via wild ability combos and trick shots, so they want to offer some more robust options in the sequel. But I wouldn't count on any forced GTA-style tutorials or missions requiring complex vehicle building, outside of maybe a rare shrine-style puzzle. Your average gamer isn't going to have the patience or inclination to lego together even the raft shown in the gameplay teaser, and I have faith that the devs are aware of this; and despite what Aonuma said, you most certainly can swim across the lake instead if you wanted to.
