For example "apartment" in French is "Appartement". Due to muscle memory and similar grammar, a lot of French speakers might write is "Appartement". The multilinguals will get condescending comment like "RIP English" for daring to speak the monolingual's person first language perfectly. So why are monolinguals so disrespectful?

Because grammar has rules and people love being right and lording it over others

That has to do with some people being dicks. It has nothing to do with how many languages you speak.

Sometimes I feel like they make an effort not to understand. Like I was sitting next to a French lady in a plane and the flight attendant asks her what she would like to drink. She asks for a "Kee". Like it's super obvious she is misprononunciating the word "tea" but the the flight attendant kept insisting she had no idea what "Kee" is.

Without you telling me, I would have no idea she is saying tea.

Because 99% of the time the foreigner spends better English so they have to pounce on any mistake they can to make themselves feel better.

It's called being pedantic

Because if you only speak your language your assumption is usually that other people do to, so if you see someone spell or write something wrong they assume it's because they're dumb before they assume they just don't speak the language well.

Do you think people restrain themselves from insulting native English speakers for their mistakes? Any and all grammar and spelling errors are targets.
