Duel Trial is horrible.

Trying Exodia deck but I missed my chance to do simple, 1k+ beatdown with Obliterate! as defense measure.

Thus I lost because dude Rebirth'd Vennominaga King (whatever it was), has 6500 ATK that Dogmatika Punishment cannot react, and attacked for game.

Lasting 20+ turns.

Also took my Mayakashi Eldlich deck to Silver. In like five games I drew my Mayakashi cards one time, and it got ashed. ._.

Tfw the infernity opponent could have won if they didn't waste their destroys on my 2 sunny snitches. Can't attack with baby blue out because it costs 500 LP to attack. Next turn I drew turtle kaiju for their baron and went back into the 4400 boss card and won. Was a very long match though. If I hasn't got to draw so many cards from an early Maxx C and my own cards searching in my deck I'd never have got all the hand traps I did to slow them down in earlier turns or to at least waste their negates on those effects.

...can you explain the basic premise of Mayakashi decks, I played against one and still don't quite get it other than that they stack themselves up and if you destroy one it only goes down a level because the material one comes back out?

That's...basically all there is too them lol. They're super casual-tier. The three main deck pieces are Hajun, Dakki, and Musume.

Hajun is a level 1 that summons any Mayakashi monster from the hand/deck. The simplest play is to summon Dakki and synch into the level 3.

Dakki revives herself everytime a Mayakashi is summoned from the extra deck, so you climb the synchros into the Level 11, and then link climb into the Link 4 Yuki Onna.

Musume has a HOPT self-revive/summon from hand if you control any Mayakashi, and can foolish any zombie when summoned. She's a strong extender than open up other Zombie plays.

All the synchros have effects that activate when summoned from the grave, and the archetype has other cards that are supposed to enable this, but the main gimmick is too slow to really work well. Yoko's monster pop is non-targeting at least.

The new Link 3 though, banishes herself from the grave to revive a Mayakashi as a quick effect, and since you're guaranteed to have her in grave if you do the main combo, it's a nice interruption to have.

The archetype is also super xenophobic. Using Dakki locks your extra deck into the archetype for the whole turn, and Musume has a super hard archetype lock that doesnt let you special summon anything except Mayakashis while she's on the field.

Still...I think the deck is fun with nice art. There are some diehard fans that have taken it to Diamond already with the new support, but...I just use it casually lol

Mayakashis can go for Maxx C deckouts or Bone Tower deck outs as alt win cons. Otherwise they can do standard GY fill ups with synchros and then use various revivals or the reviving Yuki-Onna Link mon to revive and then respond with a destruction.

Not terrible but not that good. Nibiru ends their turn, so does Veiler or Crow or Belle... well even just one interruption tend to end their turn, but there is a benefit of people not knowing which to hit. If you get rid of Dakki or stop them from searching or summoning her, I dunno what this deck does in response

This is probably one of the craziest combos I've seen... It does standard PUNK combos with a normal summon Ze Amin, and then suddenly turn into a Tomahawk fueled 7 card hand draw with 2 card hand rip (one can be on the opponent's standby), a monster negate, a live IP, an indestructible Elf, and a full hand on a deck that runs like 10-12 hand traps.

I guess when the goal is to win as consistently as possible, this is a pretty good set up. (This guy was 56th in this cup)

Yeah, the summon floodgates are worded pretty inefficiently. You cannot attempt to summon anything if it conflicts with an active floodgate.

There is a loophole where if you tribute your monster as an activation cost to summon a monster, and you have targets for that summon that would work under the floodgate, you can do a bait and switch and summon whatever you want once it's off the field lol

And jesus at the combo lol. Nice to see that Auroradon bullshit is still kicking >_>

Finally resolved the new Mayakashi trap. Opponent chains Maxx C to Hajun. I go into the level 3 synchro, set my trap, and pass.

They summon Aluber, search and activate Branded Fusion, I chain Saga. For the rest of the turn, they can't special summon from the hand, deck, or extra deck. They scoop.

I'm tempted...really tempted, to craft two more of the trap, add some Traptrick, and play it as a degenerate stun strat lol. The fun thing about the floodgate trap is that its second effect returns a banished zombie to the grave, so you can revive a Mayakashi with YukiOnna-3, then banish the trap next turn to recycle her and revive again.

Edit: Pulled a third Lu Feng. Fuck it, this game wants me to play Rot3K. Anything I should know about the deck, @Tennousu? >___>

3 AW DDL + 12 fillers for ex deck for Extravagance. It is up to you whether those 12 are useful if you get the chance to summon them, or all royal URs to flex on your opponents if they ever take a peek.

Lu Feng locks you out of non-AW monsters. You have to choose whether you want to use his effect or not if you're not running pure, as well as weighing his (non-target, soft OPT btw) pop vs handtraps if you go first.

They can technically go first and put okay and fair disruptions with the new cards (to my biased belief at least) so you kinda have to choose whether you want to make them purely go 2nd or 1st.

Small World is supposedly godly in the deck for consistency, but I'm Small Brained. Up to you.

Kaijus and Interrupted Kaiju Slumber are, to my opinion, your best frontline board breaker. You really want to KILL the if you have the chance, so DRNM and Evenly are out of the window. You can loop Kaijus with AW Sun Mou and DDL bounce. Just be careful of targeting protection (hurr Sprite Elf).

Backrows are your enemies, as usual. AW doesn't really have a lot of backrow/non-destruction removal.

Other AW Saga spells apart from Three Visits and Deception/Betrayal are not used in MDM tierlist, at least, but I like playing them at 1 each.

I can add more from my own experience but I'm on my phone lol.

I hope you aren't like me who needed 15k (I think) and 30 more UR CP to get the whole deck because I refused to craft them. >_>

But the deck is super, super cheap.

3 AW DDL, 3 Lu Feng (180 UR) are the only UR.

For SR, 3x Sun Mou (90 SR) is literally the only one you need from the secret pack, while 2x Don Ying + 3x Deception & Betrayal (150 SR) come from the newest selection pack (you might get some already).

Everything else is R and N.

If you are feeling up to it, you can even not use Lu Feng (lol) in exchange for handtraps but since you already have 3x of him, might as well, lol.

Edit2: Anti-Spell Fragrance is a good floodgate as well. Some floodgates work with AW (I saw someone even mess with freaking Necrovalley of all things) because you can turn them off with your AW.

Mahaama is actually a fun card.
Annoying as hell, but fun and can be quite a lifesaver.

Hence why Gaia deck with field spell up (And the fusion not negated) is pretty nasty if they can get going because the other side is completely sitting duck.

And glad you enjoy AW, Kim. Building with no handtraps whatsoever is refreshing for once if you are into it.

Thougj I wish I made some non-conflicting boardbreakers like Ultimate Slayer totally not because I want to see Apollousa

Lmao between spright red, carrot, and elf I just shut down an enemy Ra deck. They might have been able to get me down to 200 life points by attacking elf with the turtle kaiju I gave them but then they tried to monster reborn their 3000 attack slime god thing so I just tributes elf. They realized they couldn't do a thing and surrendered after like 10 more seconds of thinking.

The 250th YCS is a blast to watch. I think like broke the record attendence by a few thousands. Supposedly ultra chaotic there. They had a lot of cool feature matches, one of MBT on his Heroes going against Runicks, another with Pak winning his 8th in a row with Runick Naturia, doing an extremely mogul play of turboing out Barkion which ends up shutting out a set Imperm and another trap card, essentially winning him that game 3

How I'd personally rate the Duel Trial decks:

Best: Venomous Turnover
While it's easier to brick on this deck than the other two, it's also the least popular deck in my experience. Both Exodia and Destiny Board don't have any real wincons besides the very slow collect the pieces on the board so wasting a few turns until you have the perfect set up is not that difficult. And neither deck can actually deal with vennominaga once it hits the board.

Worst: Condemned Message
Destiny Board is way easier to interrupt than Exodia. Often Condemned Message just feels like it's better to focus on the lvl 8 monsters, but Exodia and Snakes both can deal with them so they aren't much of a threat.

Right now I'm just trying to get my Exodia wins for the secret message with the loaner deck, but man it takes so long because I'm either in a mirror match or a match vs Condemned Message.

Poor, poor Egyptian Gods. Nigh-unstoppable deities of destruction in the story, but irl they're just...so bad...

I'd recommend the Nimble or Frog monsters if you want to play it somewhat pure, lol. Ipiria (maybe Poison Draw Frog too?) is nice for an extra draw. Wind-Up Kitten can help going second.

I'm not a huge fan but Deep Sea Diva could be worth running if you want to try for the Baronne play with Yamatako Orochi. (If you do just remember that Diva and Yamatako are both tuners so you need to use one of your Spright bodies to make Baronne)

I'm biased so I'm always gonna recommend Nimble Beaver/1-2 Angler/Foolish Burial

You can also do Deep Sea Diva x2-3, an easily summonable lvl 8, make a good ol' Baronne or something else.

If you don't want Deep Sea Diva, you can actually use Ready Fusion to summon Allvain, which also creates a lvl 2 for Runick plays and also gives a tuner for the funny janks

But yeah, stuff is pretty funny that their biggest weakness is even easier to exploit since there's been tons of cards added in to remove other genuine boss monsters that you can't target.

Sky Dragon of Osiris (I refuse to call with /that/ name) is quite a floodgate on its own so I'd expect it can be devastating vs Links, because if you purposely set monster on defense then you cannot beat over Osiris (outside Superheavy Samurai and that one Invoked fusion (Cocytus?)).

But then Raigeki also doesn't target lmao.

This is my current recipe fwiw. Love it when I get to use the 4400 boss twin to beat over things. Took out raigeki for an extra spright smasher because it's more reliable off turn.

Edit: might swap out Dharc though, would ip: masq work as a lazy swap in?

I wouldnt personally use IP unless youve got some decent targets to go into. I think Spright Twins usually makes Sunny turn 1 right? Unless that Unchained does something on your opponents turn (idk what Unchained does lol) I would just put in a Cat Shark to help facilitate OTKs

Nah, I'm running a scythe lock deck but most of the time I'd still use giant so no link 3+ targets on my first turn. It is my second turn that I would go for the big attackers like sunny or the twin 4400 attack boss monster. Heck, there's a lot of situations where I'm more likely to just get out sunny to bring back both evil twins because it has a really useful grave effect.

It's pretty common that I end my board on Elf and 2 evil ki sikils so I could instead end on this

Elf, evil ki sikil, and ip

Then I could use ip to get out unchained abomination, then evil ki sikil to get out evil Lil la, Lil la destroys my scythe, unchained abomination then lets me get an extra destroy to use against the opponent, and Elf usually just goes to carrot who then can tribute evil ki sikil and evil Lil la gets her back out for the free draw.

...actually I need to test this now.

Unchained works great with evil twins because if i destroy a card anywhere on the field its effect lets me destroy another and at the end of either player's turn it can also destroy an additional card. And since it is in the end phase it severely limits the amount of effects the opponent can activate in response. Also even if the opponent defeats one of my monsters in battle, unchained can destroy another card. Before sunny was outright around launch, unchained was usually my boss monster.

Edit: oh, but cat shark does look good as well, thanks for the suggestion

I don't stall usually, my games with that deck tend to be 10> turns or so. It's really satisfying to go against a spright deck with divincarnate in hand tbh.

Okay, Cat Shark definitely works on my second turn a lot more naturally with the elf super negate board. Haven't been able to actually attack with a 6400 attack gigantic yet though. :l
