Fucking disgusting.

Not one single Tory MP voted against it, with 40ish 'abstaining' after calling it morally repugnant. Really shows how much they care ultimately.

And this is despite the Tory Government admitting they know it is illegal and unworkable.

This is despite them refusing to provide any safe means to cross to Britain.

This is despite them being years behind processing claims.

This is despite their attempts to ship them off to a country they have no connections to and dont speak the language still being challenged in court.

Bunch of fucking fascist wannabes is all this government is.

Gary Lineker was far too polite in his criticism.

Now we just have to hope the fucking unelected lords can save us from this, or the ECHR before the Tories take us out of it.

And if anyone wants to come and chime in with shitty nonsense like 'they arent Achtually stopping asylum seekers' shut the fuck up plz.

They claimed to want to stop the supposed immigration crisis.

And instead caused it.

Dont let them convince you of that. You dont need a whole lot of money with the right job offer.

Sadly, many dont have such an opportunity. Nor are some other English speaking countries exactly doing great themselves.

Are people still trying to immigrate to the UK though? Why not stay in Germany, Switzerland, or even Italy, Portugal or Spain?

edit - not because of their policies, but because they dont seem especially prosperous right now

Mostly because of the state healthcare system, none of the countries you named hands it off as easily.

Right, because scotland doesn't get wayyy more out of it than england does, and won't just be brexit 2.0 for them.

The Scottish system? It'll be worse than the current state with Northern Ireland for them. Hard border with England, wouldn't be able to use the pound, would have to apply to join the EU which would take years. Brexit was a bad idea, Scottish independence is even worse.

Apparently the amount of people going to the UK is far less than what's going to the other countries. The UK government is blaming all their Brexit problems on immigrants though.

Lol no. The Scottish want to be part of the EU sure, which is why they voted against brexit. Overwhelmingly so. They are also propping up the UK with their renewable energy resources and being charged out the ass for it. They don't need England, England needs them.

Let's say they declare independence from rUK, then they have to apply to join the EU. That will take years. They can't put in an application while they're still a member of the UK as they're not a sovereign state. So in that period, they're stuck in limbo being part of neither union. The amount of laws that would have to be rewritten and changed, you think Brexit was tricky for the UK having to untangle 40 years of laws? Try 300. The SNP refuse to elaborate on how exactly they would handle the problem of a hard border between Scotland and England.

Hmm I wonder fucking why people are escaping these countries at any cost? Maybe because they are trying to survive!

You can't really claim "asylum!" after you've been busted working at the chicken factory for six months while getting paid under the table.
Or, I guess you can, and UK wants to change that.

The bigger issue here, is that the proposal is half-assed and full of "we'll figure that out later" ambiguity: https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2023/mar/07/what-does-the-uk-governments-migration-bill-propose
