Okay now I'm suspicious that they're the same guy...

What I love about Jimmy (Roger Moore vers.) is that on the Storyline, we just plopped into Live and Let Die... and were there to team up with Jimmy. And Saoirse of course swooned for him because she's the Bond Girl. And when things finally concluded on that car, Jimmy pulled Saoirse into a dip and a kiss, and the scene literally ended with a heart shape closing around the two as the scene swiped.

Guessing, uh... I can't think of anybody except for X-LEX.

I did mean to mention that; you set that up so perfectly!

Roz'etta, when asking Constantine about Huntoon, showed him Jimmy's face and went 'do you recognize this guy named Jimmy?' and he went 'oh of course, there is nobody else named Jimmy'.

I can't wait for you to meet Pierce Brosnan Jimmy.

I also still can't believe you let a PC have the sonic screwdriver, that thing is absurd.

3. Patch

Its Patch! Or Parch! Either way its everyones favorite rodent. BFF to Data 7, they were both experimented on by Man Bat and they, along with their cat friend, managed to escape during No Man's Land. They were a group of friends lasting throughout Campaign 1. While originally only Artemis could communicate with Patch among the PCs, this all changed when Trish made the mouse a special speaker that would let him communicate in English for all to understand. And boy does Patch love to talk. He doens't have much of a filter and just says what he is thinking, which can be a lot of fun. Data 7 made finding him a top priority in C2 and brought him back to Z'onn Z'orr. Patch has struggled with Data 7's new name, often still referring to him as Artemis. There is also a bit of struggle with the fact that their cat friend did not survive everything that happened between campaigns. Still, Patch generally seems to have a positive attitude and is a lot of fun to interact with and have around.

Patch and Data 7 founded a new animal team in ZZ called the Big Troubles, with Data 7 making sure that Patch was the one in charge. I believe this was done at least in part to make sure Patch was given some respect at the base and a place to feel like he was important. This has really only been a problem when it came to membership decisions. Data 7 intended for this to be an all animal team, Patch wants Vicki Vale to be a member. And when it came time for their auditions for a new member Data 7 rigged it to make sure Courdoroy the Condor was selected for the spot. Big Troubles are a fun group and Patch is an excellent leader for it with Data 7 always there to be his dependable right hand man.

I don't think most people expected much from the Big Trouble team beside some fun base shenanigans. Which leads me to one of my favorite stories in the campaign. Big Troubles went out into Antarctica on their first mission and came back with an active warheard! That's right, the animal team went out on their first mission and brought back a working freaking missile. I can't imagine Waller was expecting much when they left but she definitely was impressed when they came back. If the point of Patch leading the team was to earn him respect, mission accomplished! The success earned the team a base in ZZ and their leader a spot at the table, specifically the briefing table. From what I've read Patch is a delight in the briefings. As is his way the little guy just says whatever thoughts or opinions he has, almost always unasked for and usually not super helpful, but also usually funny. Briefings seem like they would usually be a more serious exposition filled scene, so having Patch there to add some comedy seems great. I can't wait to hear what this team gets up to next.

Relatively recently, Saoirse brought back Saoirse Rat, a rat she was able to discover because Patch had told her that one of his cousin Vinny's wives was named Saoirse. So in a tunnel of rats, Saoirse called out and got the girl to come with.

Patch is excellent. He's been around but has taken a bit of a backseat as of late. We need a new Big Troubles mission to take off.

So who ARE you, Ham? This young merboy from Tritonis began life as a one-off joke, the capitalization of a meme from outside of the campaign. But thanks to Pepper and Brennus, the hapless young boy has become a key fixture in one of the largest underwater cities in the Atlantis component of the campaign. Racing ahead of the party as they travel from tier to tier in the tall, socially isolated caste-based city of Tritonis, Ham lugs around a system of instruments that makes Bert from Mary Poppins look like he's got compact taste in music. The boy churns out the tunes of ancient Atlantis and gives booming announcements of the party's approach - but thanks to Brennus lavishing him with untold amounts of wealth, Ham has become more than just a young Tritonian trying to get by. He's instead turned reliant on the party, always seeking to be at their side whenever they do ANYTHING. After all, Brennus' enchantments tipped him big-time, to the tune of hundreds of gold coins, when the boy was virtually begging for coppers.

Add to this Pepper's treatment of Ham as a veritable equal and her desire for Ham to function as an intel gathering go-fer. Suddenly, this background player, this fleeting joke, has become a de facto party member, a young, precocious creature who clearly has been found useful by the party. Despite Ham only appearing in two sessions, he's quickly endeared himself with the Tritonian clique, and I fully expect him to continue to expand his role as the story of Tritonis continues. He's already earned himself a "Go To Break" title card - what further heights can this sweet, innocent young street urchin reach with the party - and Brennus' magical wallet - at his back?

Hint: Astronomical pursuits collide with botanical delights

Okay so Roz'etta met Olapet, a plant Lantern who is over 175,000 years old, when Olapet was serving as a guard for the Green Lantern Power Battery, which also is currently housing a sleeping Kyle Rayner.

Olapet is very touchy-feely, and her touches bring about an immense sense of comfort, an ability learned through meditation, whether it was for Roz'etta or for her fellow guard, Opto309V. Roz'etta tries to be friendly almost always, so Olapet's comforting touch led to her acting especially friendly. However, Olapet is actually very serious, one of the most serious Green Lanterns we've met, so Roz'etta looked like a total fool.

BUT Roz'etta was able to get a reaction out of Kyle, and after that Olapet started treating Roz'etta like she was slightly less of a fool that she came off as.

Star City is a weird place, which I suppose fits given that it's the home for one of the biggest heroes of DC comics! Gotta make it special, and working against Ivy hurts! She was our friend in campaign one!

#49 - Patroklos

The rival to the infamous and inhumanly beautiful Maadison - Patroklos, faithful companion to Doctor John Davison, our resident surgeon in Z'onn Z'orr. Patroklos braved the horrors of Themyscira and remained stationed in the place Where Themyscira Used to Be, trusting that his closest friend Spirit would some day brave the horrors of Darkseid's world and sweep him to safety. Now, Patroklos has returned to the duty he performs the best - keeping Spirit in good spirits.

Patroklos long has been a stoic, mostly-unspeaking part of both campaigns. What I think draws hombad to the character is that our resident animal whisperers don't spend too much time making Patroklos' thoughts known, and therefore the character is inscrutable, coming across as somewhat emotionless. And in that quiet, staid face, there is both a youthful impulsiveness and an understated wisdom that allows Patroklos to fulfill an important role in Spirit's close-knit circle. The truth is that Patroklos is actually quite, quite old - he is a goat belonging to the Hesperides, of which the tree of the golden apples belonged in Greek Mythology. You would think such ageless beings would be very intelligent, but he's also a goat, and as goats are wont to do, he tries to eat those golden apples whenever he can - even though their seeds made his brethren explode suddenly, without warning.

Luckily, Spirit and Data 7 prevented that terrible fate, and Patroklos is still here all these many years later, still a guide in a now-teenaged Spirit's life as a fledgling doctor. Still, it highlights that Spirit really does have a pet - maybe the most courageous, unusual pet you could ever hope to have, but a pet nonetheless. Just one that is much more in keeping with Spirit's own unusual existence.

Just make sure he doesn't eat Canary - or her jeans.

Hint: A long-term Society staple.

Patroklos is a sweet goat, even if he's mean and called Roz'etta stinky.

I'm glad Patroklos made it even if he wasn't on my list. I figured if I picked him it would be pretty much entirely my own bias and he wouldn't actually make it. He truly is the greatest of all time.
