Haha, honestly I'm so focused on hitting triggers correctly that I haven't been listening to the songs super closely, but there have been a few I remember liking as I was playing. Couldn't tell you the names off of the top of my head though.

Honestly the 14 selection isnt great, as most of the best songs are from the expansions and this game focuses a lot on ARR. There are some good ones in there though.

Fire Emblem Engage: Beat Chapter 16 but I'm here to talk about the Paralogue that unlocked after that (Eirika) because I think I'd definitely say this was the toughest one yet. Well, it may not have been so bad if all I cared was the literal win condition and just took the map slow and turtled up and let all the enemies crash on the natural defensive lines you have at your start position. However, getting those thieves so they can't run off with the treasure contents made this by far the most tactically challenging map yet. Had a few early resets after I determined that it was best to just send my entire army down the central staircase and let the guys on the side flank me and just deal with them when they finally caught up to me because gotta go fast to catch those thieves. Then a reset once the flier reinforcements came in and blindsided me.

Finally on the winning attempt I still had a surprise or two awaiting me. I divided my team up on the assumption that the reinforcements would spawn in the same spot. But this time the flier reinforcements showed up on the complete other side of the map but thankfully I had enough units over on the left side to deal with them. The real battle was on the right side where I just barely avoided a reset because I had the good fortune to have Alear, Seadall, and Ivy positioned such that I could have Ivy grab a freeze staff from the convoy/Alear and get danced and get just in range (as in literally the edge of the staff range) to freeze the thief before he could run off and be lost for good. Well, effectively at least. As it was, I froze them inside the boss's aggro range but 3-range magic users Ivy and Hortensia could snipe him on the following turn. ...Only for the reinforcements I *expected* to show to now pop-up so that Alear and Lapis were almost surrounded by like 7 guys. Lapis had Ike because I'm almost certainly playing this game wrong and trading Emblems around to get everyone on my main team to about Level 5 Bond with them and was able to retreat and use Great Aether and barely survive the rush.

Then the boss almost wrecked me (well, did before a Divine Pulse rewind) because they hit stupid hard. Bailed out by Corrin!Yunaka being able to lock them down for three turns straight while I mopped up the reinforcements and dealt some damage to them. If not for that I was gonna get obliterated LOL. tbqh Corrin seems super busted as an Emblem.

I wish there was more interaction between him and the ME characters but that was really well done anyway.

It's March Madness time, and I feel like I watch less college basketball every year. I'll still do a bracket, even though I have no clue what I'm doing. I was excited about the possibility of Tennessee doing well since they're the one team I follow anymore, but they lost their best player to a torn ACL a couple of weeks ago, so I doubt they'll do anything more than win a game or two at most.

Although there is a chance we could play Duke in round two, and that would be fun.

Dukes one of the few schools I always root against so I hope you win!

Finished a Harry Potter movie rewatch with my wife tonight. It was interesting to see it again armed with the foreknowledge of Snape's character arc in particular.

Maybe I should read the books at some point.

Speaking of HP, I also finished Hogwarts Legacy yesterday. Pretty fun game! Definitely gets the feeling of the world across. Not really amazing, and has a big empty open world for some reason, but solidly enjoyable in general.

Although trolloc battles have become my least favorite thing in the series because they're all the same and we're in the midst of four at once right now.

AMoL has a LOT of battles, possibly too many, but I love a lot of them.

Fire Emblem Engage: Chapter 19 beated. Most interesting map since last time was definitely Leif's paralogue. Those ballistas lol. Could have been a problem but Sigurd!Ivy is a mobile artillery who can fly from outside ballista range to nuke them then canter away beyond the reach of any retribution and eliminate all of the ones on the right side of the map.

That little ballista corner closer to the start area could have been trickier since they had two up that covered each other but Byleth!Alear, Yunaka, and Seadall can basically former a strike team that can cover a silly amount of distance in one turn to get there wreck it.

Leif's is intense yeah. I just moved Louis into range and let him tank the ballista shots until they ran out of ammo...

Yeah, I did. Got a nasty surprise from the two mages in the bottom left corner. When I check the enemy units before the battle I'm typically looking for enemies with drops so I missed the 60 or whatever magic attack and walked right into a ohko when I put a unit in their range thinking I'd draw them over like any other enemies lol. Corrin!Yunaka to the rescue again!

As for the massive reinforcements at the end I boxed in Sigurd with my tankiest guys while the rest of the army cleaned that up before I finished the battle.

You should play FE4 someday. Although, I guess it is supposed to get a remake "soon" so maybe it is best just to wait for that.

Hell yes I love that feeling (though it's also great to clear a quest like 25% of the way through a song because you're using the best characters haha).

Ted Lasso Season 3 Episode 1 complete!

Glad to see Jamie becoming more of a leader. Nice to see Lasso being classy when it comes to Nate, too. I disliked Nate by the end of Season 2, but I actually felt kinda bad for him here.

The Mandalorian Season 3 Episode 3 complete!

Well, that was kind of a frightening detour into the inner workings of the New Republic.

FE Engage: Kinda wanted to get through this series of battles before posting an update but oh well. Chapter 21 (and just 21) beated. Sitting on 22's prep screen.

20 had an interesting fight concept, it probably would have been annoying if Griss warping every turn lasted forever but it could have gone on a few more turns I think (unless it was progress based and that's what stopped it)

21 was far more straightforward but became a far more fun fight once I decided to defeat all the reinforcements. Definitely made it significantly more intense fight. Corrin!Yunaka held one chokepoint and Byleth!Alear and Roy!Lapis the other, each backed up by a good chunk of the army. Alear's group had most of them because that side tended to be the scarier side since the 3-range mages could only reliably be countered by Alycrst with a longbow and that wouldn't always happen so there'd always be a huge amount of mages. Definitely a few scary moments (and a rewind or two) where enough hits would pile up to put me in the "one more hit will kill, need to dodge like 3 more potential attacks" zone or Yunaka would go cold on crits and an enemy or two could leak out to get to the squishy mages backing her up.

Eventually though the reinforcements stopped and the rout was completed. That said this greatly extended the time the battle took so I stopped on 22's prep screen as mentioned. Story-wise the ballsy move would be to have had Alear die for real and Veyle take over MC duties. She has an extremely similar class so you could even like just transfer their stats over to her if you wanted. But you knew that modern FE would never do this. I expected the bailout revive to be the rings though because there was a moment a few chapters ago where they very clearly implied they have a super secret revive function. But somehow Sombron got them all? Well, Veyle's trick works but consider me highly sus since that ring function is obviously going to be used *somewhere*.

After this chapter I was also considering the possibility that Alear was really dead and that Veyle would take over as lead. While I like Alear, I love Veyle so I think I would have been okay with the change. But, in the end that was too gutsy of a move for Intelligent Systems. Rings are surprisingly easy to drop aren't they? >_>

FE Engage: NCAA Tournament eating most of my free time but I squeezed in enough to beat Chapter 22. I guess the real Fire Emblem was the friends we made along the way.

"I am the thirteenth Emblem. The Fire Emblem." lmfao IS plz. Okay, so I said I expected the secret ring revival ability to be fired at some point but I didn't expect it to happen in the same chapter where Veyle revived Alear lol. So in theory I'm okay with each of the revival methods - they both make sense logically and were built up, Veyle with the Corrupted and the Emblems both foreshadowing this power and just the general principle of Elyos being able to get its own Emblem. But using them both back-to-back like this is pretty comical in a bad way. If they had to have a "Alear dies and is brought back" should have stuck with one or the other, not both.

The miracle happen.

It was a bit silly to have Alear die and get revived twice in quick succession. The revival as a Corrupted was a neat idea. But, it probably should have been cut since the Alear is half everything plot point is the more important one. Although, I'm sort of glad they didn't because I really liked Veyle during those scenes. >_>

I think I can do it with a Shantotto nuke, but I need to raise her magic up a bit. All my attempts have felt very close, but its hard to tell not knowing exactly how much HP he has.

Nah, theres 3 rounds of regular enemies, then Feral Chaos is the first boss.

The regular enemies are like Ultimecia and BFA, so maybe thats what youre thinking of, but they arent classified as bosses for that stage.

Creed 3 beaten. I'm not quite sure how it ended up this way but the Rocky series is one of the few non-anime movies I still watch in theatres.

I think the movie was okay. Not having Rocky in the movie was an interesting decision. For pre-release material, I only watched one trailer and Rocky wasn't in it so I did feel like he might not be around much. But, I didn't realize he wouldn't be around at all. After the funeral scene, I was wondering if I just somehow forgot he was dead or something because there was just no way Rocky wouldn't be there.

The fight at the end was also a bit disappointing. In the middle fight they made it very clear how Dame was fighting dirty such that even someone like me who doesn't know much about boxing could understand. In the end fight, those tactics just seemed to disappear? Dame just seemed to be a normal boxing who is playing squarely in the rules. I was looking forward to what Adonis's counterplay was going to be and he just didn't need to. Taken as a normal fight, it was good but I was expecting more since it was the final fight.

My boy Viktor Drago got done dirty. The guy just can't catch a break. He wasn't around much but I enjoyed what I saw.

Yeah, I need to watch Creed 3 at some point. I've heard Jonathan Majors steals the show, but that's not surprising since he stole the show in Quantumania, too.
