Conservatives are getting much more brazen in their open bigotry against trans people. Bills are being drafted and passed that criminalize gender affirming care and education, make it illegal to dress in drag (even though this isn't a trans-exclusive practice, it's clearly targeting trans people), protect people who assault/murder trans people, and even now bills that literally define trans people out of existence. Genocide is the intentional destruction of a people and/or culture. These kinds of bills are designed to either increase the suicide rate and murder rate of trans people, or write them off as not even people with rights.
