They keep pretending they want my product or services. I send a sales rep out to them, and they talk their ear off about their children, grandchildren, etc., but dont ever give a flying fuck about the actual reason we are there.

They just use my reps as company for a couple of hours and thats it.

The really ironic part is how much they talk up their amazing and successful children. I rather have a bum kid that comes and visits me when Im old than successful ones that visit so little that Im forced to pretend I want products just to have a salesman to talk to.

And the cherry on top is that their racist comments are just like their farts. They just let them out with zero fucks about who hears them. God bless my minority employees. They have the patience of a saint.

Old people are definitely the worst. Ive been working retail / service for almost twenty years and 99% of the people Ive had major issues with have been old people.

And you know most of their thinking is the well back in my day, people did their jobs better and its like, yeah, back in your day, jobs were actually worth working and paid a decent salary compared to now.

Not really. This was weeks ago. Since then Ive come across other issues. Like a few days ago some dude in his 80s sought out our products, we set him up with it, and just hours later got bombarded with phone calls from his family accusing us of taking advantage of and elderly man with dementia. First he contacted us for OUR product and decided to purchase. Second, how the fuck were any of my reps supposed to know he has dementia!? And third, like I told them, if hes that fucked up why doesnt he have some sort of care taker and allowed to be driving around town all Willy nilly?

I think in my 6 years of customer service I've only had one young person throw a fit.

Old people, on the other hand... are mostly fine too, but if there's a wacko it's going to be a 60+ year old. Maybe they just don't care about being polite anymore.

It also sucks getting old, especially when your body starts falling apart, at that point they probably don't care.
