This exact same situation happened in my town in England a few weeks ago and you know what the result was? A funny exchange on the local Facebook group, where the person apologised again for getting in the car and the car owner laughing about it in the comments.

Why are Americans so constantly terrified of everything, calling the cops over the daftest things.

That isn't what happen. She called the police because they ran out a nuggets after taking her money and would not give her a refund. While calling 911 is to extreme. They stole from her and if you stole from a business like that they would call the police on you.
